Team WHR originally became interested when Upload on Prime series creator Greg Daniels along with his Executive Producers including Writer Maxwell Theodore Vivian selected an outstanding leading cast including Robbie Amell as Nathan, Andy Allo as Nora, Allegra Edwards as Ingrid, and Kevin Bigley as Luke. When we learned that Upload on Prime would feature famous Stargate celebrities William B. Davis as David and Barclay Hope as Oliver were cast in supporting roles, our interest increased further since we have often followed the careers of upcoming and famous science fiction series stars.

A superb science fiction comedy drama with a large diverse cast, Upload on Prime explores the concepts surrounding a primary character named Nathan, after his untimely premature death.

When Nathan’s consciousness is uploaded into a virtual world, the awesome adventure begins. As Nathan gets comfortable with his surroundings, questions about his death arise subsequent to a self-driving car crash that unfortunately cut his young life short. Nathan explores this new reality with his pals Luke.

During his time in Lakeview, Nathan meets his Upload customer service representative Nora, with often surprising results in the real world that include his desire to return to Ingrid.

Therefore, you can imagine our team’s delight when Prime Video’s public relations company ScenarioPR selected WormholeRiders News Agency to conduct Upload Press Room interviews during San Diego Comic-Con 2025 to explore the adventures of Nathan, Nora, Ingrid and Luke as Nathan seeks to adjust to his premature death!

    Hello Stargate fans,

    2022-09-17 GoFundMe for Cindy Zellers
Image courtesy GoFundMe. Click to donate to Cindy Zellers

We are asking for your charity for a fellow Stargate fan, Cindy Zellers, who has suffered a serious injury through no fault of your own. This event will run through October 31, 2022 and features prizes at five donation levels discussed below.

Cindy was simply attending a get together party at the home of a coworker. The co-workers owned a 4 year-old Pit Bull Shepherd mix dog with a history of aggression.

Cindy was just on her way out of the party, getting ready to leave for home when the owner let the dog out to give it a chance to do its business.

Without warning, the dog sprang and jumped on her face. It was so sudden that the owner was still holding onto the dog’s leash.

Within seconds, the dog was attacking Cindy, who suffered a huge gash along her cheek and nose.

Sadly, the dog was surrendered to authorities and euthanized, but the damage was done. Cindy required over 70 stitches on her face. She has also been told that there is a possibility of nerve damage.

All of this has resulted in medical expenses and lost income for this lady. As well, Cindy has been dealing with anxiety, sleepless nights, and a fear of dogs as a result of this terrible incident.

Unfortunately, the dog’s family does not have insurance to cover the damages which is why Team WHR stepped up to sponsor this charity event to help Ms. Zellers.

Cindy’s health insurance and short-term disability insurance covered some of her expenses and lost income. However, approximately $3,000.00 USD of medical expenses and lost wages were not covered. Cindy also is looking at ongoing future medical expenses to address the damage done when the dog attacked her.

Cindy is a long-time Stargate fan, so it seemed appropriate for WormholeRiders to step up and assist with her GoFundMe goal of $3,000.00 USD that will run on GoGundMe until October 31, 2022. To that end, well known actors Alex Zahara and Dan Payne both helped out by hosting the online event recorded below to assist with raising money to help Cindy out.

    Thanks Alex and Dan!

The first series of items available from Ms. Bertrand include rare screen worm costumes, official artwork and series posters that were either featured in the Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis television series episodes produced by MGM Studios from 1997 to 2009, or were used as inspiration for the creation of actual costumes themselves featured in the various series.

Each costume or item comes with a genuine certificate of authenticity for the discerning collector of Stargate memorabilia who may like to use the costumes for COSPlay when attending various entertainment conventions of their choice!

This famous character costume includes a screen worn sweater, turtle neck and pants worn by actor David Hewlett.

The costume was used in the Stargate Atlantis season four twentieth episode “The Last Man”.

Stargate Atlantis fans will recall this iconic episode costume when a holographic Doctor McKay helped Lt. Colonel John Sheppard use the Stargate in the distant future to return from the abandoned city of Atlantis in order to help save our Stargate heroes team survive in the present.

A very rare item indeed for any admirer of Stargate Atlantis’ Doctor Rodney McKay and the only one of it’s kind known to still exist!

The classically heavy, famous Bra’tac Jaffa cloak was used in various Stargate SG-1 episodes from 1997 to 2007. This rare item would make a perfect costume accoutrement from the Stargate SG-1 series for wearing at Halloween, at costume parties or as COS-Play costume at entertainment conventions!

Screen worn medical scrubs costume of Doctor Radek Zalenka who was portrayed by actor David Nykl in the Stargate Atlantis series from 2004 to 2009.

Dr. Zelenka was often seen in this costume when he performed his critical medical duties in the fabled lost city of Atlantis located in the Pegasus galaxy while tending to wounded or injured Atlantis heroes or when performing scientific experiments with Doctor Rodney McKay.

Stargate Atlantis fans will recall when Doctor Zelenka was often teasing McKay in the process while wearing these medical scrubs!

Another very realistic costume from the Stargate Atlantis series for the fan who likes to wear such things at Halloween, at costume parties, as a COS-Play costume at entertainment conventions, or for just plain fun!

What’s New With Stargate? Happy 24th Birthday SG-1 and Atlantis Comic-Con at Home 2021!

    Stargate SG-1 banner

    Hi Stargate fans,

    Stargate Atlantis poster
    Stargate images courtesy MGM Studios

Today is the 24th anniversary of Stargate SG-1!

Everyone I know remembers where they first witnessed the first episode “Children of the Gods” premiered on July 27, 1997 in the United States. Do you remember the science fiction wonder and amazement as the phenomena spread across the world shortly thereafter? I do!

It’s been a long wait since the last episode of Stargate Atlantis aired on January 09, 2009 and Stargate Universe on May 09, 2011. There have been many hiccups along the way, but Stargate fans are loyal and have always been interested in whatever new developments are happening with Stargate including the hopeful fandom yearning for a new series when Stargate Origins was brought forth to great acclaim in 2018.

Since then, many times fans have complained. Some said it seemed as if MGM Studios (the owner of the Stargate franchise) was yanking their chains by offering something new only to pull it away again.

Then, out of the mists and darkness rode our knight in shining armor, ready to offer MGM Studios a new path forward for more Stargate by pitching ideas, hoping that one idea would take hold and we would get another Stargate series.

As the owners of The Companion state, “The Companion is a membership science fiction news, commentary and analysis website that serves up premium content on everything from the biggest blockbusters to cult TV shows we grew up with. Proudly ad-free and clickbait-free, The Companion works with actors, creators, and showrunners to break untold stories. Find out more at TheCompanion.app.”

Brad Wright - Image courtesy Companion App
Brad Wright – Image courtesy The Companion

Of course, I am speaking about science fiction industry veteran Brad Wright, Executive Producer of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe. Wright recently visited the team at The Companion App to provide podcasts that should appeal to Stargate fans in specific and Sci-fi fans in general. Click here to view The Companion App interview with Brad Wright.

    The Companion also adds:

“Brad Wright’s Conversations in Sci-Fi is an ongoing series in which Wright catches up with some of the actors, writers and creators he’s worked with over his long career in science fiction.

This is the second podcast from The Companion, following the recent launch of Gaters Gonna Gate with Joseph Mallozzi. Hosted by Stargate writer/producer and Dark Matter showrunner Joseph Mallozzi, the Gaters Gonna Gate group also featured a guest segment with Arrow director and Stargate Atlantis stunt coordinator James ‘Bam Bam’ Bamford.”

    Jenny Stiven on Twitter

Wright’s podcasts will not only give us access to insider information about Stargate’s many forms but the actors and production crews as well.

I and the Stargate fandom are looking forward to hearing more podcasts from Brad Wright in the future that hopefully result in a new Stargate television series and feature movies as we celebrate the 24th anniversary of Stargate SG-1 today!

Last but not least, many thanks to Jenny Stiven for the heads up about the Brad Wright interview with The Companion, and her ongoing support of the Stargate franchise for the past 15 years which includes her time at MGM Studios and conventions.

The Atlantis Crew Get Together Again at Comic-Con at Home!

    Stargate Atlantis Main Cast

Don’t you just love it when a group of people that you love and admire come together for a visit? There should be canapes and drinks!

This past weekend Dial The Gate, courtesy of Comic-Con At Home 2021, brought us David Hewlett (Rodney McKay), Torri Higginson (Elizabeth Weir), Rachel Luttrell (Teyla Emmagan), Paul McGillion (Carson Beckett), Rainbow Sun Francks (Aiden Ford), David Nykl (Radek Zelenka), and Robert Picardo (Richard Woolsey) for an online chat sponsored by Comic-Con International.

I enjoyed the wonderful interaction with everyone. It was simply wonderful to see several friends who love and respect each other chatting again. They take over and leave the host, David Read, struggling to take control back for a few moments, which was hilarious.

David Hewlett, Robert Picardo and David Nykl still have it. Robert Picardo shared that being on Atlantis cracked him up, especially when David Hewlett had something witty to say. Then Robert Picardo said as everyone said goodbye, “Enjoy the pandemic.”

All of the gang admit to really missing the conventions as a result of the shutdown of Covid -19. They also shared with us the projects they are working on and the hopes that some form of Stargate will return to television in the near future. Amazon Prime will now have a lot of pressure on it to bring us more of the series we love.

Unfortunately, other main cast members including Joe Flanigan, Jason Momoa, Amanda Tapping, and Jewel Staite were not available to participate in the Comic-Con At Home Stargate Atlantis reunion panel. The rest of the cast was happy to keep us entertained and it was fun. We include the nice Comic-Con at Home 2021 panel below for your enjoyment.

  • Paul McGillion Stargate Shout Out Through The Firefly Lane Wormhole!

Paul McGillion Stargate Shout Out Through The Firefly Lane Wormhole!

    Paul McGillion Stargate Atlantis banner

Hello fans of Stargate Atlantis’ most famous physician, Doctor Carson Beckett Paul McGillion!

    Paul McGillion as Carson Beckett
Paul McGillion as Carson Beckett. Image courtesy MGM Studios

Paul McGillion is a multifaceted performer who was born in Scotland, as the sixth of seven children. Paul immigrated to Canada with his family as a child. While pursuing his acting career, Paul obtained two degrees (B.A. and B.Ed) and was a member of the National Champion Brock Badgers varsity wrestling team. He is now a multi-award winning actor with over one hundred film and television credits to his name, who lives with his wife and two kids in Vancouver.

Paul McGillion is well known to science fiction fans for his portrayal of Carson Beckett on the popular Stargate spin-off series Stargate Atlantis (SGA). McGillion clearly does a ‘flawless’ Scottish accent as is seen in his portrayal of Dr. Beckett. McGillion has an active fan base who (successfully) mounted a ‘Save Carson Beckett‘ campaign after his character was written out of Atlantis during its 3rd season.

Although he was no longer a regular, McGillion filmed several more episodes of SGA for the 4th and 5th seasons. Many of those same fans then turned their attention to Star Trek during the search for a new Scotty figure and continued to lobby for the actor to be the new Scotty. Although he wasn’t chosen for the part, the campaign garnered the attention of the Scottish newspaper Paisley Daily Express (McGillion was born in Paisley).

In early 2016, he spent two months in India filming Heartbeats, a Bollywood-flavoured teen dance film from the creator of Step Up and Save the Last Dance that is available on iTunes.

    Paul McGillion in Star Trek
Paul McGillion in Star Trek. Image courtesy Paramount

Subsequent to his portrayal of “Barracks Leader” in Star Trek (2009), Paul McGillion pulled out his Scottish accent for the first time since Stargate Atlantis to play Earl Cox (a friend of Ralph Dibny’s) on The Flash.

McGillion played a cancer patient facing an uncertain future in Before the Day, a short film he also directed that premiered at the 2018 Canadian Film Festival in Toronto. Before that, he spent a few weeks in Newfoundland filming a multi-episode guest role in Discovery Channel’s Frontier. The epic period drama reunited McGillion with Stargate Atlantis alumnus Jason Momoa, who stared as a part-Irish, part-Native American outlaw campaigning to breach the Hudson’s Bay Company’s monopoly on the Canadian fur trade. He stated that “it was minus 27 with wind chill factor on the ocean. It was crazy.”

    Paul McGillion on Twitter
Click to visit and follow Paul McGillion on Twitter. Image courtesy Paul McGillion

“I’ve been very fortunate,” muses McGillion, “It’s an eclectic time with a variety of roles. It would be nice to be on a series on a regular basis again, but there’s something about getting an opportunity to play all of these different characters that’s fun. You never know what you’re going to get.”

Although the characters in McGillion’s recent filmography including the hit series “Firefly Lane” on Netflix are wildly different from one another – prosthetic bellies and cop uniforms; Scottish accents and Bollywood; shaved heads and 17th-century garb – what binds them together is the fact that each one contains the possibility of a singular moment. “It doesn’t matter the size of the role, as long as there’s a moment in there, and acting is all about moments,” says McGillion.

Although McGillion is constantly moving forward in search of new characters to play and moments to explore, he is forever grateful for the role that kicked his career into high gear: that of the beloved Dr. Carson Beckett on Stargate MGM Studios franchise series Atlantis. Stargate is a landmark event in my career, and I will never forget it and I always appreciate it, and any time there’s an opportunity to support anything Stargate, I’m in,” says McGillion!

WormholeRiders News Agency welcomes Rachel Luttrell, famous for her role as Teyla Emmagan in Stargate Atlantis.

Rachell Luttrell was born in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, the daughter of Veronica Makihio Shenkunde Luttrell of the Washambala tribe of the Usambara Mountains, and Dr. William Leon Luttrell from Bossier City, Louisiana. She is one of four daughters.

Rachell’s family emigrated to Canada when she was five years old, and she was raised in Toronto.

Her family has several musical roots; her father, a former member of the critically acclaimed Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, trained Luttrell’s soprano voice.

Rachel Luttrell studied ballet at the Russian Academy of Classical Ballet School and also studied piano at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

Luttrell appeared in commercials and starred on popular Canadian television programs, including the long-running drama Street Legal (1987). Upon graduating from high school, Luttrell enrolled in the musical theater program at Sheridan College to pursue her passion for dancing, singing, and acting.

Luttrell made her professional début in Canada’s premier production of Miss Saigon in Toronto, and as “The Enchantress” in the Canadian production of Disney‘s Beauty And The Beast. She would go on to appear in many other stage productions, such as Once On This Island, Goblin Market, and the premier performance of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage‘s Las Meninas.

Following a move to Los Angeles, Luttrell would go on to appear in many guest star roles on television series. She was kept very busy guest-starring on several popular TV shows, including ER (1994) and Charmed (1998), and in the short-lived but well-received show Sleepwalkers (1997), alongside Naomi Watts and Bruce Greenwood.

In 2001, Luttrell appeared in Anne Rice’s critically acclaimed TV movie The Feast of All Saints (2001), in which she played Peter Gallagher‘s on-screen daughter in a cast that also included Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Beals, and Ossie Davis. Later that same year, Luttrell appeared in a small but memorable role in the feature film Impostor (2001), opposite Gary Sinise.

Frustrated with some of the roles being offered to her at the time, she was considering giving up on her acting career and enrolling at UCLA to study architecture. She ventured to the UK instead and studied at the British American Drama Association on a midsummer course at Balliol College, Oxford. Shortly after her return to Los Angeles, Luttrell was cast in her most high-profile role to date, as Teyla Emmagan on Stargate Atlantis.

After Stargate: Atlantis (2004) finished, Luttrell made guest appearances on True Justice (2010), NCIS (2003), NCIS: Los Angeles (2009), No Sleep Till 18 (2015), and Arrow (2012).

When not in front of the camera, Luttrell indulges her love of writing, something that has always brought her great joy and reward. She is at work with her husband, stunt-performer and award-winning cinematographer Loyd Bateman, on several short feature-length films being produced by their production company, Feral Child Productions. Luttrell and Bateman live in Los Angeles with their two children, Caden Dar Bateman and Ridley Asha Bateman.
