San Diego Comic-Con 2025 Upload on Prime Interviews!

Team WHR originally became interested when Upload on Prime series creator Greg Daniels along with his Executive Producers including Writer Maxwell Theodore Vivian selected an outstanding leading cast including Robbie Amell as Nathan, Andy Allo as Nora, Allegra Edwards as Ingrid, and Kevin Bigley as Luke. When we learned that Upload on Prime would feature famous Stargate celebrities William B. Davis as David and Barclay Hope as Oliver were cast in supporting roles, our interest increased further since we have often followed the careers of upcoming and famous science fiction series stars.

A superb science fiction comedy drama with a large diverse cast, Upload on Prime explores the concepts surrounding a primary character named Nathan, after his untimely premature death.

When Nathan’s consciousness is uploaded into a virtual world, the awesome adventure begins. As Nathan gets comfortable with his surroundings, questions about his death arise subsequent to a self-driving car crash that unfortunately cut his young life short. Nathan explores this new reality with his pals Luke.

Nathan finds himself uploaded to a place known as Lakeview which turns out to be his girlfriend’s family digital after-life. During his time in Lakeview, Nathan meets his Upload customer service representative Nora, with often surprising results in the real world that include his desire to return to Ingrid.

Therefore, you can imagine our team’s delight when Prime Video’s public relations company ScenarioPR selected WormholeRiders News Agency to conduct Upload Press Room interviews during San Diego Comic-Con 2025 to explore the adventures of Nathan, Nora, Ingrid and Luke as Nathan seeks to adjust to his premature death!

Under the guidance of Executive Producer and Writer Maxwell Theodore Vivian, during the course of the first three seasons, Nathan alternatively attends his own funeral, has his memories restored, and is downloaded into a synthetic body.

All the while poor Nathan is seeking answers to what has happened that placed his on this unusual journey. Hoping for a solution to his predicament, Nathan learns many things about life and it’s consequences.

Ultimately Nathan’s struggle leads to a decisive battle with evil to defeat corporate and societal influences that are attempting to manipulate the dangerous technological advances related to the Upload / Download process!

San Diego Comic-Con 2025 Musical Anatomy of a Superhero Press Room Interviews!

Hello, fellow Comic-Con Composer Lovers!

One of our most favorite things in life are the musical genius composers who bring life to movie, television and theater programs that virtually everyone I know enjoys. The melodies are so hypnotic and enjoyable to our entertainment experiences that most people simply forget that they are there.

In fact, that is exactly the intent of the composers we all enjoy; To make the music they compose so seamless to the programs that we are often unaware they are even there.

On July 24, 2025 the wonderful team at Costa Communications invited TeamWHR to the “Musical Anatomy Superhero Press Room” where we were honored to interview Brandon Roberts composer for Logan and Andor, Simon Franglen of the Avatar The Way of Water and the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash, Mick Giacchino of Skeleton Crew and The Penguin, and Alex Seaver composer for the Arcane series.

Each of these talented individuals were delightful to interview with each sharing their exciting experiences in composing the music for the iconic entertainment programs mentioned above as well as many other series and films we have all enjoyed over the years!

About Brandon Roberts:

Emmy Award-winning composer Brandon Roberts’ music can be heard all over the scoring world today. From the Academy Award-winning documentary Free Solo, co-composed with Marco Beltrami, to the pulsing action of World War Z and Logan, to the surreal reimagining of Jordan Peele’s Twilight Zone and the horror of Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving. Upon graduating from the USC Scoring for Motion Pictures & Television program, Brandon Roberts began working under Oscar®-nominated and Emmy®-winning composer Marco Beltrami. They later went on to co-compose a wide range of films and television. Projects include such large-scale feature films as A Quiet Place (I and II), Logan, Chaos Walking, and World War Z. Simon Franglen is a multi-award-winning composer and producer of film, classical, and contemporary music. Well-known for his long-time collaboration with his friend, James Horner, he was the lead arranger and producer on films including The Amazing Spider-Man, Titanic, and Avatar. For his critically acclaimed score for Avatar: The Way of Water, he was awarded the World Soundtrack Awards’ ‘Discovery of the Year,’ the Hollywood Music in Media Award, the ASCAP Award winner for the top score, and was nominated for the Ivor Novello award. This year, Franglen follows up his 3-hour epic score from Avatar: The Way of Water with Avatar: Fire and Ash, which releases in December 2025. Franglen’s credits also include three of the four top-grossing films of all time and six of the top-selling albums. Mick Giacchino is a composer for film and television in both live-action and animated mediums. His recent work includes the HBO/DC original series The Penguin, Skeleton Crew from Lucasfilm, Disney’s The Muppets Mayhem and AMC+’s That Dirty Black Bag. Since his debut with Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow in 2015,

Mick has contributed to projects such as Disney’s Zootopia+, Netflix’s animated feature Extinct, The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell, and additional music for Matt Reeves’ The Batman. In 2021, he released his first instrumental EP, “Perseverance.”

Singer, songwriter, composer and Executive Music Producer Alex Seaver represents a strikingly new phenomenon in today’s music world. Whether he’s releasing studio albums for his own artist outfit Mako, collaborating with Riot Games, or writing and producing music for some of today’s biggest artists, Juilliard-trained Seaver has made a unique impact across the intersection of music, film, television and video games. Most recently, Seaver served as the Executive Music Producer and composer for the second season of Riot Games’ Emmy-winning Netflix animated series Arcane. Across both seasons, Arcane spent 15 weeks in Netflix’s global top 10 list, where Seaver earned an Emmy nomination for his work on the first season. SDCC2025 Star Wars Echoes From The Galaxy Julien’s Auctions Interview at Comic-Con Museum!

On Wednesday July 23, 2024 WormholeRiders was granted the extraordinary honor of interviewing Katherine Williamson of Julien’s Auctions at the Comic-Con Museum “Echoes From The Galaxy” auction that is now accepting bids on over 300 marvelous memorabilia collectables in conjunction with Turner Classic Movies.

Final bids for these exciting “Echoes From The Galaxy” auction will be conducted live from the Comic-Con Museum on Sunday July 27, 2024 beginning at 10:00 am. The auction will also be streamed live at the Julien’s Auctions website for those who are unable to attend in person. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Comic-Con Museum and The Saga Museum of Star Wars Memorabllia.

During our time at the Comic-Con Museum we were excited to learn about this fantastic auction and were pleased to see many items on display that are available to collectors!

We were also pleased to lean that the Comic-Con Museum Legends program has extended to 2025. So if you cannot attend this year, plan on next year to leverage your donation to this fabulous museum and pop culture convention.

We were ecstatic when the privilege of interviewing Katherine Williamson of Julien’s Auctions was offered. Katherine shared her detailed knowledge about the beloved items up for auction for purchasing a piece of Star Wars movie history! During San Diego Comic-Con, the Comic-Con Museum and Julien’s Auctions will be auctioning these incomparable items that include Yoda puppets, a Rancor model as seen in Return of the Jedi, and other authentic Star Wars movie memorabilia featuring screen used props such as Star Wars Light Sabers and much more!

Maggid – The New Voice of Jewish Comics at San Diego Comic-Con 2023 for the New Year and Beyond!

To coincide with the recent Rosh Hashanah in 2023, the Jewish New Year, Team WHR brings you a panel highlights from San Diego Comic-Con 2023 about the art of storytelling from a Jewish perspective that dates back thousands of years. Although the earliest mention of Israel is inscribed on the Merneptah Stele at approximately around 1213–1203 BCE, religious literature tells the story of Israelites going back at least as far as 1500 BCE.

On Friday July 21, 2023, thanks to a timely tip from award winning author and playwright Gary Morgenstein, we attended a wonderful panel that shares this depth of knowledge in what has contributed to the human history of storytelling for at least the past 3,500 years!

The panel name is “The New Voice of Jewish Comics” that featured (left to right in image below) the exciting efforts of Ramy Dubrow (Source Point Comics), Joelle Sellner (Ben 10, New Paradigm Studios), Arnon Schorr (The Pirate Captain Toldenado), David McLees (Source Point Press), Miriam Mora (Center for Jewish History) and Jordan Gorfinkel, famed DC Comics creator from the Batman franchise and thousands of other graphic novels as well as being a delightful cartoonist and musician. During the panel, this group of talented individuals discussed what Jews in comics look like on and off the comic page. This panel busted stereotypes and demonstrated to everyone that Jewish comics are not only in the present, but are going to be in the future as well.

San Diego Comic-Con 2023 Chasing Chasing Amy Press Room Interviews Featuring Sav and Regina Rodgers!

On Thursday July 20, 2023 WormholeRiders was granted the outstanding honor of interviewing the terrifically talented Sav Rodgers (creator of Chasing Chasing Amy) and Regina Rodgers, producer of this important film for everyone in the 21st Century!

Written and directed by Sav Rodgers, Chasing Chasing Amy is the genius documentary film that chronicles the journey of Sav from the time in 1997 when he experienced the original Chasing Amy film through his life in the second decade of the 21st Century.

During our time with Sav and Regina we cherished the privilege of interviewing these two delightful individuals about their involvement in the Chasing Chasing Amy documentary, bringing their creative genius in creating the film that featured an original actor and the director from the 1997 movie, specifically Joey Lauren Adams and Kevin Smith.

Sav indicated during our interview and to many others as well, that the original Chasing Amy literally saved is life. As such Sav, with Regina, embarked on a mission to share the adventure that made Sav and Regina what they are today by overcoming the fear and prejudice associated with being gay, lesbian or a bi-sexual human being. Viewers of the original Chasing Amy, an American romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Kevin Smith know that the film revolved around a character named Holden McNeil (Ben Affleck), a male comic artist who was pursuing a woman named Alyssa Jones (Joey Lauren Adams) who Holden learns is a lesbian. During Chasing Amy, Holden is being constantly, and unfairly criticized by many, including by his best friend Banky Edwards (Jason Lee).

In Chasing Chasing Amy, creator, writer, and director Sav Rodgers is joined by Andrew Ahn, Trish Bendix, Scott Mosier, Kevin Smith, Guinevere Turner, Princess Weekes, and Kevin Willmott to document what they all were subjected to, and how they achieved success in their lives despite encountering prejudice.

The reason we are intensely interested in the Chasing Chasing Amy documentary film? WormholeRiders experienced hatred and prejudice directed towards two of our reporters in the past, one gay and one lesbian who were attacked on Social Media. Our management, and all our staff immediately rallied to support our reporters including advising the social media company involved to have the haters warned and in several cases (out of hundreds), suspended by Internet Protocol address motivating TeamWHR to become one of the early followers of the NOH8 Campaign over fourteen years ago in April 2009.

Chasing Chasing Amy is a film we highly recommend. It is about a young filmmaker (Sav Rodgers) winner of 29 film awards and garnered 14 nominations, who sets out to understand the 1990’s LGBTQ romantic comedy film that saved his life. During his journey, Sav is forced to confront complicated truths of his own, that changed who he is forever. Subsequent to a TED Talk he gave in 2018 that kick started this film making journey, all of which ultimately spurred the writing of scripts that center on highly specific, surprising stories about queer people.

Crunchyroll! – Cowboy Bebop Interviews with Mary Franklin and Rita Vandergaw at the Iconic Comic-Con Museum!

In the afternoon of Tuesday July 18, 2023 WormholeRiders was granted the extraordinary honor of meeting the fabulously talented Mary Franklin, Head of Events for Crunchyroll, and Rita Vandergaw, the Director of the Comic-Con Museum who coordinated the Crunchyroll exhibits at the museum!

During our terrific time at the Comic-Con Museum we were given the privilege of interviewing these two fabulous individuals about their involvement in bringing “Cowboy Bebop 25th Anniversary Art Exhibition” to their membership and the general public at the marvelous museum that has been renovated to the state of the art beginning in 2021 and opened last year in 2022 with their first exciting event, the sixtieth anniversary of Spiderman and this years “Excelsior! The Life and Legacy of Stan Lee” exhibit! We include our interesting interview with Mary and Rita conducted at the museum, and the Cowboy Bebop trailer below for your enjoyment.

In this role, Franklin is responsible for driving the overall events strategy for the platform, including the execution and operation of more than 20 domestic events and Crunchyroll’s yearly flagship convention Crunchyroll Expo often presented at the San Jose Convention Center near San Francisco, California.

A veteran in the fan event space, Franklin joined Crunchyroll from ReedPOP, where she led Comic Con teams outside North America, as well as the team that produces Star Wars Celebration in cooperation with Lucasfilm. In the global arena, Franklin led Comic Con launches in Vienna, Jakarta, Beijing, Shanghai, Paris, South Africa, and Seoul. Prior to ReedPOP, Franklin spent fourteen years at Lucasfilm, where she was Head of Events & Fan Relations, and the Lucasfilm lead on Celebration. Referring to the fan festival as Lucasfilm’s “Love letter to Star Wars fans,” Franklin cares passionately about creating events that are milestones for attendees. Lucasfilm recruited her from the fan community after following her leadership in one of the first Star Wars online fan-run organizations. In addition to events and fan relations, Franklin has enjoyed careers as a professional cowhand, commercial fishing boat deckhand, bartender, and weight training instructor, as well as a stint in Antarctica working with penguins.

On Tuesday July 18, 2023 WormholeRiders was granted the extraordinary honor of meeting the iconic Michael Uslan, his equally talented son David Uslan, and Rita Vandergaw, the Director of the Comic-Con Museum.

During our time at the Comic-Con Museum we were given the privilege of interviewing these three fabulous individuals about their involvement in bringing “Excelsior! The Life and Legacy of Stan Lee” to their membership and the general public at the marvelous museum that has been renovated to the state of the art beginning in 2021 and opened last year in 2022 with their first exciting event, the sixtieth anniversary of Spiderman!

About the Stan Lee Legacy at Comic-Con Museum:

Stan Lee appeared at Comic-Con numerous times over the course of his 78-year career to delight his legions of fans. This year, Comic-Con Museum and Kartoon Studios, the controlling partner to the “Stan Lee Universe” IP, present a first-ever exhibit to celebrate his 100 years of legacy. The exhibit will feature rare comic books, original art, and paintings exploring decades of Lee’s work and a section devoted entirely to Lee’s co-creators of the Marvel Universe, including Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and other amazing co-creators. About Michael Uslan:

Michael Uslan is the Originator and Executive Producer of the Batman franchise of motion pictures. Born on December 15, 1950 in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, Michael is revered for bringing the original Batman (1989) to our screens with a faithful interpretation of the original comic books dating back to Detective Comics #27 in May 1939 and the original Batman series of comics that began in 1940. Michael met Stan Lee as a young man and was a lifelong friend and companion.

Michael has been involved in over eighty-five television and movie productions, virtually every production of Batman since 1988 including Batman Begins (2005), The Batman (2022) and Justice League: Warworld (2023). Michael is well known as a producer of the beloved film National Treasure (2004).

About David Uslan:

David Uslan is deeply connected to the legacy of Stan Lee, iconic creator of Spiderman and other Marvel superheroes, serving as advisors to Kartoon Studios’ “Stan Lee Universe” and the Comic-Con Museum. Having enjoyed a close friendship and business association with the legendary Stan Lee for 50 years, Michael, David’s father credits Stan Lee as their mentor and inspiration. They recently curated “Excelsior! The Life and Legacy of Stan Lee,” the new world-first showcase of Lee and his co-creators’ extraordinary work. David is also known for his impressive background in producing, publishing, gaming, and is involved in prestigious projects such as the Emmy-nominated “Sabrina: Secrets of A Teenage Witch” and the upcoming scripted series based on the lives of New York Yankees’ legends Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth with Universal Television and Apple Plus.

Alex Barone Interview – Bottles of Mayans MC!
Welcome back Mayans MC “Bottles” lovers,

Everyone we know enjoys the Mayans character “Bottles” portrayed by Alex Barone who joined the cast for the fifth and final season of this superb series. Alex is excellent as “Bottles” bringing a softer human element to the series that deals with serious societal issues such as gang warfare, violence, drug distribution, and the southern United States border issues in the fictional town of Santo Padre, an environment that highlights not only these issues, but peals back the veneer to focus on the families involved that are dealing with the challenges of life.

Alex Barone brings an authentic realism to his role as “Bottles”, a “Prospect” (neophyte) in the Mayans organization when he is required to produce large amounts of illegal Fentanyl, a deadly narcotic that has become the financial lifeblood of the Mayans in the fifth season. Always loyal to the Mayans club, “Bottles” has many genuine human interaction moments with other club members not directly related to his role as a “Prospect”. We here at TeamWHR admire Alex for his outstanding portrayal of “Bottles” in Mayans MC and for a wonderful interview conducted on July 03, 2023 that is included below. Thanks Alex!

Alex Barone moved to the Los Angeles Hollywood area in 2015 from Baltimore, Maryland where he was born to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Initially involved with producing television series based on his experience including the hit series Tommy n Bobby that Alex executive produced and appears in as a main character in one hundred forty-nine episode to date!

Alex’s big breaks as an actor in the network broadcast entertainment industry came when he was cast as Will Bennett in the long running police drama series The Rookie and as a host in the television series comedy How I Met Your Father. Alex is currently best known for his brilliant portrayal of “Bottles” in the FX Network’s hit series Mayans MC.

Alex can be seen in recent films including Netflix’s thriller Luckiest Girl Alive, an adaptation of Jessica Knoll’s New York Times Best-Seller of the same name, starring Mila Kunis and directed by Mike Barker (The Handmaid’s Tale). Another supporting role in John Ridley’s upcoming film Shirley (opposite Regina King). Alex’s fans are enjoying his performance as “Bottles” in the fabulous FX Networks hit show Mayans MC during the fifth & final season.

Alex is a fighter who never takes no for an answer as he underwent forty-three surgeries early on in his life. Alex is passionate about advocating and empowering performers with differences in the entertainment industry. As such, he is actively involved with the organization No Limits Foundation: Camp No Limits as a mentor/speaker to children and teens with limb differences.

From Sharknado Ten Year Anniversary to A Dugout For Peace 2023 – Interview With Award Winning Gary Morgenstein!

On July 13, 2013 entertainment history was made when a movie named Sharknado broadcast on SYFY. This event set up five years of fun with a total of six movies that completed a successful movie of the week run on August 19, 2018 with The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time. The incredible series of films became a phenomenon that began with the original followed by Sharknado 2: The Second One in 2014, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! in 2015, Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens in 2016, and Sharknado 5: Global Swarming in 2017!

This incredible five year run spawned a social media frenzy that was embraced by science fiction fans around the world with Twitter live tweet parties and general hysteria as people enjoyed a series of movies that were originally rejected by network studios. One publicist, Gary Morgenstein, then with the SYFY Channel (originally known as the SciFi Channel), knew better, convincing executives to broadcast the original film in the series. Gary recalls a warning that if it failed to draw sufficient audiences, he could look forward to seeking a new employer!

Over the five year hit run by Anthony C. Ferrante who directed, and written by Thunder Levin, the films stars Ian Ziering, Tara Reid and Cassandra Scerbo became household favorites. The series became famous for cameo roles by famous television celebrities including Nichelle Nichols, Olivia Newton-John, Kathie Lee Gifford, Dolph Lundgren, Marina Sirtis, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Al Roker and dozens of well known individuals.

On June 21, 2023 we had the honor of interviewing Gary about his role in the Sharknado series for SYFY and at entertainment conventions including the fabled San Diego Comic-Con where we interviewed the celebrities and creators in 2015 as well as attending the Sharknado panels. We also discussed Gary’s transition to becoming an award winning author that began when we reviewed his play “Mad Mel and the Marradians” in 2011 followed by the musical “Mad Mel Saves the World” and many others! With this in mind, we know you will enjoy our interview about the tenth anniversary of the Sharknado series with Gary Morgenstein that we have included below for your enjoyment.

About Gary Morgenstein:

Gary Morgenstein’s novels and plays have been featured in national media from the New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Parade Magazine, the New York Post, and Sports Illustrated to NPR. An award-winning playwright, Morgenstein’s stage dramas include A Black and White Cookie, the Broadway World award-winning (Best Play) funny drama about the unlikely yet powerful friendship between an African American newsstand owner and an eccentric Communist Jew, which shows there is more that unites us than divides us.

This summer, the play will make its West Coast premiere in Los Angeles beginning July 21, produced by Sky Pilot Theater, and August 11 at Center Players in Freehold, New Jersey. His seven novels include the critically-acclaimed dystopian political thrillers – which begin in 2098 after America and the West have lost World War Three – A Mound Over Hell (“1984 Meets Shoeless Joe”), A Fastball for Freedom (“a dystopian Field of Dreams”) and the upcoming A Dugout to Peace (“Powerful and imaginative”).

Stargate Actors and Fans Help A Fellow Fan Participating In A Worthwhile Charity Event – Win Swag or Video Shout Out!

We are asking for your charity for a fellow Stargate fan, Cindy Zellers, who has suffered a serious injury through no fault of your own. This event will run through October 31, 2022 and features prizes at five donation levels discussed below.

Cindy was simply attending a get together party at the home of a coworker. The co-workers owned a 4 year-old Pit Bull Shepherd mix dog with a history of aggression.

Cindy was just on her way out of the party, getting ready to leave for home when the owner let the dog out to give it a chance to do its business.

Without warning, the dog sprang and jumped on her face. It was so sudden that the owner was still holding onto the dog’s leash.

Within seconds, the dog was attacking Cindy, who suffered a huge gash along her cheek and nose.

Sadly, the dog was surrendered to authorities and euthanized, but the damage was done. Cindy required over 70 stitches on her face. She has also been told that there is a possibility of nerve damage.

All of this has resulted in medical expenses and lost income for this lady. As well, Cindy has been dealing with anxiety, sleepless nights, and a fear of dogs as a result of this terrible incident.

Unfortunately, the dog’s family does not have insurance to cover the damages which is why Team WHR stepped up to sponsor this charity event to help Ms. Zellers.

Cindy’s health insurance and short-term disability insurance covered some of her expenses and lost income. However, approximately $3,000.00 USD of medical expenses and lost wages were not covered. Cindy also is looking at ongoing future medical expenses to address the damage done when the dog attacked her.

Cindy is a long-time Stargate fan, so it seemed appropriate for WormholeRiders to step up and assist with her GoFundMe goal of $3,000.00 USD that will run on GoGundMe until October 31, 2022. To that end, well known actors Alex Zahara and Dan Payne both helped out by hosting the online event recorded below to assist with raising money to help Cindy out.

At the $50.00 USD level is a meticulously made model of the famous F-302 star fighter signed by Joe Flanigan as used throughout the Stargate franchise in Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and the awesome fight sequences in the opening episodes of Stargate Universe.

I watched Joe Flanigan sign this rare model at a Creation Entertainment Stargate convention conducted in Vancouver, British Columbia. When signing, Joe joked that “I’ve flown one of these!”
