On Friday April 10, 2015 we had the privilege to interview Andrew Jackson, who loves to shock and surprise his audience with an ever expanding character range, now including a wonderful project named “Never Feed a Polar Bear!“.
Andrew was once quoted as saying, “Actors grant themselves permission to behave in ways that would be impossible or unthinkable in the real world. As a result, actors come to know themselves extremely well”.
After filming, Andrew’s first on-camera role as a punk rocker, the director remarked, “I saw 12 guys in there.”
A tall, blond, classically trained actor of stage and screen, Andrew gained a steady fan base and wide exposure early on in his career with his role as Dr. Stephen Hamill on ABC’s All My Children.
With feature roles leaning increasingly to such high-profile films as Scooby Doo 2 and Edison Force — not to mention such critically acclaimed television productions as Taken — it seemed as though the hardworking actor might finally be getting some well-earned exposure outside of the soap opera circuit.
Jackson was born to a military clergyman and a high-school music teacher in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, in 1963. Andrew spent his early years as an armed forces brat and lived in various parts of Ontario and Alberta.
At the age of 12 Andrew moved with his mother and sister to Annapolis Valley Nova Scotia where he spent his formative years.
After spending four years at Canada’s prestigious Stratford Festival, he set his sights on New York City and got his first big break when cast on All My Children.
This was not Jackson’s first screen role — he had previously appeared in such features as State Park (1987) and Red Blooded American Girl (1990) — but it did give him the exposure needed to jump-start a screen career.
A fateful trip to Los Angeles to essay a guest role on the popular series Charmed was followed by a return to Canada to play the lead in the popular series Wind at My Back, and in 2002, Jackson appeared in no less than nine film and television productions including Steven Spielberg’s acclaimed sci-fi miniseries Taken. Andrew continues to show his talent as he gets opportunities acting alongside such screen greats as Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman.
His recent interest in writing has resulted in a classical TV series treatment, a horror screenplay as well as two children’s books.
Andrew’s fans recall signature science fiction roles in Stargate SG-1 as Supreme High Councilor Persus and as Lipp-Sett in Andromeda in 2003 and 2004. His most recent work are appearances on the television series Numb Chucks and Starfall.
Executive Producer and screenwriter Bernd Späth is president of the German production company “Oh My God”! Theater-, Film- und Fernsehproduktions GmbH producing this wonderful feature film. A renowned playwright in Germany and Austria, he has completed five Arctic expeditions on the Arctic island of Spitsbergen.

With the mid season premiere just around the corner, I would like to take this opportunity to refresh the slow-started but action-packed season one of this awesome show!
If you have not seen the midwinter finale, be alert! Spoilers ahead!
“What will I become?”
Back in season one of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the beautiful Raina, (Ruth Negga), asked a question that seemed out of place. No one understood it, it had no context, and it certainly did not seem like the first question she would ask of the elusive Clairvoyant.
As season one continued, it still did not entirely seem like the question had a place in that universe. There were indications that something was different about Raina, and certainly about Skye (Chloe Bennet), and even Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) himself, but still the question was not answered.
Season two began to focus on that question, however, and amidst the madness of writing, the danger of HYDRA, and the skin-crawling creepiness of Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), the layers peeled away, revealing purpose, motivation, and understanding. Finally, we were led by the obelisk into that dark room in Puerto Rico as the eager Raina and the driven Skye made contact with what they would become.
The final sequence at the end of the midwinter finale left me gasping. It was breathtaking, beautiful, heartbreaking, and game-changing.
As I had suspected, the attractive, smart, friendly Antoine Triplett (B.J. Britt) turned out to be a redshirt. All right, he got more screen time than the average redshirt, but still ultimately I noticed early on in season two that his character was often relegated to chatter, background, with little time to step up and really shine.
It has been my experience that when this happens to characters, it means they are likely being written out of the show. (See Chyler Leigh and T.R. Knight in Grey’s Anatomy and Craig Veroni in Stargate Atlantis). I was sad to see Trip go, but his timing is absolutely exquisite.
Skye undergoes this amazing change, receiving this gift she did not even want, and as she is reborn from the cocoon in one of the most beautiful visuals I have seen in the show to date, the first thing she sees is her dear friend crumbling to pieces before her eyes.
Her (re)birth, his death, is something she will have forever linked in her mind. Chloe is stunning in that moment, on the verge of tears, shocked, terrified, even hopeless (but not yet helpless).
It is easily one of my favorite moments of season two. What a send-off for Trip!
Hats off to Chloe Bennet for all the work she has had to do with Skye. She has had to embody a coming of age type story (and origin story) over the course of one and a half years instead of one and a half hours, and she has handled the change brilliantly. From the character perspective, Skye has completed her original character arc by receiving many of the answers she has sought. She joined S.H.I.E.L.D to find out about her parents, then stayed to find out more about who she was.
She certainly got her answers and, in the process, gained herself friends, a family, a purpose, a father (figure, and the one she really wants, I think), a father (real…if a madman), and a stalker. Skye has come a long, long way and now with the revelation of her true identity, things with her are only going to get more intense!
So the hints were dropped excessively in the last two episodes, especially in word choice and the ever-famous song, and now we have a confirmation from the creators: Skye is Daisy Johnson, daughter of “The Doctor (Kyle MacLachlan).
Skye is a character known to many as ‘Quake’ (and all the earth-shattering puns that accompanied that revelation were done to death within twenty-four hours of the finale airing.).
Perhaps more interesting is the revelation that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has shifted perspective just a tiny bit. They are no longer exclusively focusing on the non-superpowered people of the Universe. With the arrival of Daisy, we have the arrival of the Inhumans, something many of the cast members and creators seem exceptionally excited about.
For those of you who really have no idea who the Inhumans are, let me give you a brief paragraph, (and thank you http://marvel.com/universe/Inhumans for the assist.). Inhumans are the result of genetic experimentation on early humans by another, powerful race known as the Kree. We are familiar with the Kree already – the GH-325 serum that formed the basis of Coulson’s T.A.H.I.T.I. project came from one.
We saw it first in season one, episode 14, ‘T.A.H.I.T.I.’. Also, the legend spoken of by Raina in season two, episode nine ‘Ye Who Enter Here’, involves a star falling from the heavens and blue angels coming to change humanity.
That is likely a direct reference to the Kree and their experimentation on humans. The city of Attilan (the city Coulson and so many others were forced to draw) is the main city for the Inhumans, which means we may have a whole hotbed of excitement awaiting in those hallways.
Now, while Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen have said other characters will get more screentime, you cannot just drop a bomb like: “Hello, you are an alien!” and then let the storyline sit. We can certainly expect more Skye/Daisy-centric episodes now in the back half of season two.
With the help of Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), Skye has to learn about her abilities, of course, and control them, and learn how to live in a world where she is suddenly different. How will the others perceive her now?
Will she be able to stay away from her father despite his confidence that she will need him to help her? Now that Skye’s questions have been answered, all the avenues of storytelling for her open up.
I know this worries some people as the first half of season two seemed to be so much about Skye as well, though I disagree – I think it was more about the Inhumans in general and the rebuilding after HYDRA. Skye has become a main character, for certain, and now with her father in the picture and her new abilities ready to come out, she is going to become even more of a major player.
The biggest question for season two for me right now is who are the bad guys? We beat HYDRA to the punch, Daniel Whitehall (Reed Diamond) is dead, and we do not have a ‘Centipede’ equivalent running around. There is always Calvin Zabo, (Kyle MacLachlan), who likely still wants to keep beating up Coulson for stealing his satisfaction.
There’s Raina, who might be heavily upset by her new look (she will always be beautiful to me though). Grant Ward took off with Agent 33. Then you have Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and Mack (Henry Simmons) keeping something from everyone. There are plenty of antagonists out there but I am wondering which will take center stage. One thing is for sure: the writers have Plans, so Something Is Coming.
I have to say, another absolute favorite moment of season two would be Skye finally meeting her father, Cal. Call me a rosy-eyed optimist, but I seriously think that was some of the most realistic and intelligent writing for that kind of scene I have ever seen – and the acting on both sides is marvelous! It gets me every time and I have seen the episode at least four times now. There is, to me at least, no question that Cal loves Skye. There is no question as to how important she is to him. The stakes were so high and the tension so thick in their first meeting that I found myself holding my breath.
The moments were alternately agonizing (Cal telling Skye she had to stay), and creepy (Cal touching her shoulder while he hummed the lullaby…well that was kind of sweet too), and sweet (Cal having to start over and stumbling through his introduction.).
Kyle does an impressive job of playing so many emotions all in one second, and the character himself seems to be incredibly conflicted and complicated. Cal, like Raina, is ultimately out for his own personal goal, and he is willing to use anyone to get it. His backing down when Skye held a gun to him was a little surprising to me, but at the same time it made him vulnerable, more likeable, and perhaps even more realistic. He wants his daughter to be happy and to be with him and if she has to do some crazy stuff, let her. After all, he is Doctor Jekyll (or so the rumor goes.).
I completely understood his attacking Coulson and did not actually see it as a ‘bad guy’ act at all. It is a perfectly understandable reaction. Imagine you have held an obsessive hatred of one man for twenty-five years. You have planned how you are going to kill him, imagined it, felt the echo of satisfaction that you know one day will be real. Then, as you are literally walking towards him to enact the revenge you have waited for, someone else shoots him dead. Sorry, Coulson, but I was totally with Cal on that one. No, you could not have known the whole story. But still….twenty-five years of agony just evaporated….Cal had to take it out on someone and you happened to be right there.
I like Cal, there is no secret there. I almost wish he was not already genuinely assumed to be a bad guy. Like Raina, he could be a neutral factor and pull it off with more charm and humor than Grant Ward (who was starting to get outright stalkerish by the end there.).
Grant Ward. Over the last few episodes, Ward has managed to do what I was hoping the writers would let him do, and get out of his cell and back into the real world. From there, the overall question of how he handles life when he has no one to follow definitely began to answer itself. Ward also had his own agenda, and was perfectly capable of following it within the rules he set for himself. It seems now that he is loyal to no one, simply using both S.H.I.E.L.D and HYDRA for one purpose: to re-ingratiate himself with Skye.
Raina outright calling him on it made me chuckle with evil glee, even though at that point it was pretty obvious to everyone what was going on. But things went upside down when Skye pulled a one-eighty and shot him.
He clearly, obviously, and shockingly did not see that coming. Is Ward really so stupid as to believe that Skye would not hurt him after all that has happened? It is totally possible…love makes you blind. Either way he may become even more dangerous now that he has been spurned.
Finally, we get down to the remaining characters of the show. I am sorry to put it that way but a lot of them did seriously take a backseat this half of the season. Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) has been her usual badass self this season, and seeing her laugh and dance and take it personally when her face got taken was all lovely.
Hopefully we will get a little more into her again to round things out. Characters have to wait their turns, understandably so, and not everyone was as quiet as May this season.
Jemma Simmons, (Elizabeth Henstridge), got a good, solid episode to herself, which FitzSimmons fans (as well as everyone else) desperately needed to try and understand why she left the team when Leo Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) needed her most (to use his words.).
While we still do not completely have all of those answers – and in fact what we have is almost contradictory – the dynamic between Fitz and Simmons has changed painfully, (especially with Jemma telling Bobbi she had only ever seen Fitz as a friend….say it isn’t so, please!). Fitz has outright admitted that he needs to work ‘for’ Simmons, not ‘with’ her, and that he is no longer as capable as he was. It seems to me that Fitz is trying to deal in reality and Jemma is not there yet. I could have that backwards, but maybe the second half of the season will get more into it.
Still and all, Fitz has Mack, (who thankfully did not die, at least as a zombie), and Hunter (Nick Blood), and Jemma has…well Jemma does not really have anyone anymore, unless Skye and Bobbi will listen, and frankly both of them are stuck in their own stories at the moment. I hate to view Jemma as an antagonist because she did what she thought was right…it just seems now like it may have been the wrong decision.
The spring premiere of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is this Tuesday, March 3!!

This Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. reviewer remains impressed with the outstanding level of production quality values, character development, script writing and overall progress as the story arc builds to the series winter finale before the Christmas holiday season in an episode.
“Ye Who Enter Here” was written by imaginative Paul Zbyszewski and directed by the talented Bill Gierhart! who did a wonderful job with a great episode!
I cannot speak for all admirers of this series, but this reviewer remains ecstatic about the outstanding adventures we are treated to each week via the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series!
With only one episode remaining before the series winter break, the exciting details of “Ye Who Enter Here” laid a solid foundation for the tenth episode “What They Become”, when Skye (Chloe Bennet), seemingly abused by Agent Ward (Brett Dalton), who has been “Rolling in the Deep” will meet her father (Kyle MacLachlan).
“What They Become” airs Tuesday December 09, 2014 on the ABC Network at 9 PM, 8 Central time, a sure to be exciting episode that this reviewer is looking forward to when Skye is delivered to dear ole’ Dad by her unrequited lover Ward!
This reviewer loves these types of stories where theory and hypothesis are woven into the tapestry. Having been a admirer of the theories of the fantastic series, Ancient Aliens, as seen on the History Channel network, in “Ye Who Enter Here” we find out more details concerning the ancient alien presence and their ancient city as envisioned in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!
Most people we know love the concept of aliens visiting Earth in the distant past, long suspected of helping the natives build the Great Pyramids, Machu Picchu and other ancient archeological structures!
Many believe the aliens not only helped prehistoric human kind develop. Other believe aliens enslaved us fir their nefarious purposes. Still others believe that the aliens were believed to be deities that the edifices of modern religion were created from. Still others think the aliens are still here, monitoring Earth to this very day !
Regardless of whether you the reader believe in aliens or not, in “Ye Who Enter Here”, Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) has his team attempt to find the entrance a mysterious alien city.
The ageless story arc is a foundation long been enjoyed by hundreds of millions, if not a billion or more human being on our fair planet Earth!
In “Ye Who Enter Here”, we begin to unravel more of the fascinating aspects of the Marvel Universe that have dovetailed the adventures in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!
More fun is the dual role of MingNa Wen who portrays our beloved Melinda May and the horribly evil Hydra operative, Agent 33, a slavish minion of Hydra leader, and World War Two Nazi officer, Daniel Whitehall wonderfully portrayed by Reed Diamond!
Ye Who Enter Here:
As the as rest of the agents seek to rescue Raina (Ruth Negga) subsequent to confirming that Hydra is after her, all hell will break loose in the process as we open the Skye (Chloe Bennet) who is experiencing a series of frightening nightmarish dreams about her mysterious past, no doubt related to her father (Kyle MacLachlan), “The Doctor”. Skye cannot fathom all the details yet, but she is convinced that something horrific is about to happen.
This reviewer enjoys the acting talent of Chloe Bennet, a gifted and gorgeous actress who brings realism to her role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Skye is dealing with the identity hidden from her for what the protagonists believe are good reasons.
A short time later, Coulson shares with his team that evil Hydra has obtained the feared Obelisk!
To make matters worse, horrific Hydra has now employed an expert who knows how to use it, none other than dear ole’ “Dad” aka “The Doctor”!
We have learned that there is a potent, in fact a devastating weapon contained within the Obelisk. A secret, known only the is that in order to activate the weapon, one must be inside an ancient alien temple located in the secret city that in buried under the city of San Juan.
Thankfully, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. know where ancient city is. Fortunately malevolent Hydra does not… YET! The mission of our heroes, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Get to the alien temple first, and blow the powerful temple to smithereens before Hydra can activate the weapon and enslave all of humankind!
Diabolic Daniel Whitehall’s (Reed Diamond) Hydra operatives, including a still wounded Agent 33, hunt down Raina (Ruth Megga) in Vancouver, British Columbia to exact their revenge.
Fortunately, a couple of Agents Sam and Billy Koenig (both portrayed by Patton Oswalt) are there to ensure Raina’s escape. Sam uses of a special type of cloaking umbrella to affect their escape.
Raina, now allied with SHIELD receives an a lanyard. Coulson sends an extraction team consisting of Melinda May, Skye and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) hoping to keep Skye from confronting her crazed father now employed by Hydra. This is suspected by Skye who is still wondering about “Dad”.
A fun scene ensues as Mac (Henry Simmons) probes Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) about her rekindled romance with Hunter. The two of them know a secret that Lance does not. Bobbi wants to keep it that way.
Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) has bared her soul about what has transpired between her with Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker). Jemma has been confused feelings she went undercover at Hydra after were both left for dead by now Hydra operative Agent Ward (Brett Dalton).
During these poignant moments in “Ye Who Enter Here”, The two former best friends finally have a heart to heart discussion. It does not go as planned. Fitz reveals that he can no longer work with Simmons, whose heart is broken in the process.
This reviewer strongly believes these two will reconcile their friendship much like Lance and Bobbi, perhaps even leading to matrimony!.
Bobbi has a San Juan contact who we learn is running behind schedule late for their meeting. Bobbi uses the delay as chance to voice her concern about the mission to Coulson.
Bobbi is concerned that SHIELD, and Coulson is there to do accomplish something other than destroy the alien device weapon, perhaps to dovetail his own obsession as we learned in “The Writing on the Wall”.
Coulson calms Bobbi the only purpose of the mission is to stop Hydra from enslaving the world. The SHIELD team works to gain access to the hidden city, a story of the haunted fort tower where they are digging is revealed. In the process, we meet Diego (Carlos Rivera Marchand), a local friend of Bobbi in San Juan who provides information about the ancient alien temple.
The SHIELD team is in Canada to save Raina. True to series form, with great fight choreography between Bennet and MingNa, Skye is about to get her ass kicked by Agent 33. This reviewer was happy when Lance comes to her rescue! As this reviewer has shared previously, the snarky Lance is a fun addition to the team.
Subsequent to the wonderful fight sequences, Raina shares a secret with them that she can handle the Obelisk without any negative effects.
Once she realizes Hydra has the device, she tries to flee. May crashed the SHIELD van into the bad guys ensuring their escape and calming Raina in the process.
Agent 33 also escapes and informs evil Whitehall of the incident where she was able to implant a tracking device on Raina.
Back story regarding Skye’s father (that we have been waiting for about Raina) is revealed as they escape. Skye is told by Raina that her father is not really a bad person, but has been manipulated by life’s circumstance into what he has now become.
Raina shares that she herself was a lost soul before she met Skye’s father. Finally Raina shares with Skye that “Dad” has been seeking his daughter his entire life. Raina describes that the Obelisk is a Divining device with the power to help “the worthy inherit the Earth”. Naturally, Whitehall is convinced that Hydra is the only organization “worthy” enough to possess the Obelisk.
It is at this point in the action that Skye’s earlier sense of foreboding comes into play. In a desperate attempt to warn her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. team mates, Skye tries to contact the Coulson.
Evil Hydra has planned ahead when we learn that Skye’s communication has been blocked via the tracking device!
Things quickly go from bad to worse when Four Hydra QuinJets surround the cloaked SHIELD airbus. Dirt bag traitor Ward and a team of Hydra agents come aboard. They demand Raina and Skye!
In a melodramatic scene, an ultimatum is give: surrender Skye and Raina of he will kill everyone aboard the SHIELD airbus. In an emotional moment between Skye and Melinda May, who have developed a warm respect for each other, Skye says that she can handle herself. Raina reminds Skye to bring along her tablet with the map of the ancient alien city.
As the episode winds down, Mac is lowered into the pathway to the secret city. As he reaches the bottom, Mac reveals an alien symbol to the group which glows a reddish hue that somehow causes the exact alien symbol to appear on Mac! It appears an ancient curse is protecting the city!
The team pulls Mac to the surface who is suffering from some alien affliction as his eyes glow red! In what appears to be his last act on Earth, Mac yells at his comrades to run.
Now fully affected by the alien curse, Mac attacks all of them. An “icer” has no effect.
Fitz holds a gun with real bullets on Mac. He is unable to pull the trigger! Bobbi shocks Mac to the point where he falls into the hole. Coulson orders the alien hole to be sealed with Mac inside!
The episode ends with a conversation between Agent 33 and Whitehall. She advises the evil Hydra leader that Ward has captured Raina and Skye.
We learn that Ward was only supposed to capture Raina. Ward is obviously still obsessed with Skye, Whitehall raises and eyebrow in curiosity.
This leaves me to wonder if the Ward character could be a triple agent? This hypothesis is reinforced when Whitehall learn that Ward did not destroy the S.H.I.E.L.D. airbus per his orders. Agent 33 is instructed to destroy the SHIELD airbus as the screen fades to black!!

As always, there are spoilers ahead…like super big spoilers!
After nearly a full season of buildup, a terrifying side effect, a hauntingly beautiful acronym, and the cryptic message: “a magical place”, we finally have an idea as to what the heck is going on in the brains of some of the main characters in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Now, as someone who is admittedly not well-versed in comics, I have to say I did not see this coming, (this being what the writing was, not how it got to that reveal). I really do not read comics, nor do I follow the adventures of the Avengers or the X-Men or anything in any particular detail.
My knowledge is limited to the movies – the Marvel Cinematic Universe, if you will. But Tuesday’s reveal of the three-dimensional nature of the alien writing that has been plaguing us since season one, episode two was, to me, as much a subtle social commentary as it was a massive clue as to the future of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Writing on the Wall:
I had been wondering for several episodes why no one had thought to lay out the writing samples to see if they all matched up. This came to a head particularly after Skye (Chloe Bennet) figured out it was a map. I was very excited to see Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) doing exactly that, and then began to wonder, once the writing did not match up, why he did not try to lay it out one on top of the other, like layers to a map. I did not, however, consider taking it a step further, which is the commentary I noted earlier.
Despite living in a three-dimensional world, humans have often been called ‘young’ and ‘naive’ by other alien species because of how we act and how we look at things. It made me smile to see Joss Whedon take that little commentary and place it into this episode, revealing that cooperation and next-level thinking were really required to figure out the mystery of the map. The alien writing could only be translated into the brains as images and most of the characters in the show could only produce it as two-dimensional images. Only by looking beneath the surface, applying greater wisdom, and working together could the characters actually put together what was happening.
Instead, human nature of wanting to be the best at anything coupled with pride at being chosen for this task and frustration at not understanding what was being produced won out. People went mad. People attacked and killed each other. It was not so much a function of the alien writing, but the simple human nature that really caused the problems.
You, reader, may completely disagree with me and find my ideas insane and silly. But I really think Joss is the kind of person who would wisely ask us to look at ourselves and consider the deeper notions of life…and he would do so in such a subtle medium as this.
So now the big reveal: the characters who have all been injected with GH-325 (the life-fluids of that mysterious blue alien that I am still thinking is a Kree based on what little I know), are seeing blueprints of an alien city. The questions begin: Where is this city? What is its name? Why does the alien want to go there? There is already – of course – massive speculation.
There has been talk of Skye being an ‘Inhuman.’. For anyone else who does not know about comics, Inhumans are basically the product of experiments performed by the alien race Kree. They were created by bonding human DNA with that of Eternals, which are a genetically modified race of humans created by the Celestials, which are a race of Extremely Powerful Aliens. (All information gathered from Marvel.Wikia.com.). Basically, one of the rumors is that Skye is the product of a lot of genetic engineering by a lot of alien races, and as a result she likely has some latent abilities including longer life span and increased physical endurance, strength, and reflexes.
On top of that, the revelation of her father (who definitely has some alien qualities), and other various hints (her ability to handle the GH formula), all come together to hint that the city portrayed in last week’s episode is Attilan. Given the cohesive nature of the Marvel Cinematic universe, I would currently say this is the theory that has the most support at the moment. However, with Marvel’s overall massive reveal of their timeline of films (admittedly not the best decision in my mind; they totally lost the element of surprise for….everything), the ‘Inhumans’ movie is slated for 2018, which either means Marvel is super-confident that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is going to last that long with enough support from the films released (or they have a backup plan), or this theory really is not the case.
Even if Skye is not an Inhuman there is still the big question of Raina (Ruth Negga) and her ability to handle the obelisk. Maybe she is the Inhuman. Regardless, there needs to be more Raina in this series, period…but that is just one writer’s opinion.
There was also speculation about Phil Coulson being an alien, which is why he supposedly was handling the effects of GH-325 better than some of the others. I could swim with that, but it will take some more clues for me to really take it as a believable theory. In this episode, however, Coulson reveals he is still determined to fight the good fight alone, a character flaw that is consistently and believably portrayed. Coulson does not like involving others when it is something he believes he can do himself, and his inherent good nature (chaotic good, that is) is part of why we love him so much.
There is also the note that Coulson feels personally responsible for the actions of T.A.H.I.T.I. – for good reason, as he was the head of the project. Coulson continues to prove that he is a man who will not back down from responsibility and T.A.H.I.T.I. has continued to haunt him. However, it will only be so long before that bites him in the butt, and Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) or the others may not be there to save him.
With the alien writing and its reveal taking center stage this week, everyone else got unfortunately relegated to supporting roles.
The ever popular but tragic FitzSimmons (Iain de Caestecker in what I might call a breakout role at this point, and Elizabeth Henstridge) has almost nothing to do save for the normal ‘analyze blood samples’ and monitor Coulson’s condition as he struggles through the memory machine. This also is the first episode of the series where Simmons does not address Fitz directly at any point, a sad milestone to reach given the beauty of their relationship last season.
After last week’s almost-revelatory conversation, I admit I was hoping we would see more about why Simmons left. Unfortunately, she could not talk about it, thus pushing that information to a later date. I am fine with waiting but this has become a heartbreaking storyline…which of course is exactly why it is so good.
We did get a lovely, almost out of character shock from Simmons as she informed Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) to his face that if she ever saw him again, she would kill him. I cheered for her there, shoring up my theory of a few weeks ago that she truly does love Fitz but cannot deal with him in his new state, thus why she left. Ward took ‘her’ Fitz and now she does not know what to do, especially as Fitz himself is clearly getting used to how he is now. He needs her to support him as he accepts himself and she cannot do that yet.
The other fairly exciting subplot of this episode was the revving-up storyline of Grant Ward being back on the streets and going after his Senator brother (family drama + politics = uh oh.).
I am very excited for this and thankful that the writers finally let him out of his cage. I still am not certain what he is up to or his motivations. He clearly was all about Skye the whole time he was in custody, and definitely has focused on her in an obsessive manner (could that be indicative of some kind of alien mind control Skye accidentally has? Crazy Theory 1…). It is possible he just locked onto her because he has lost everything else, but given his family history it is also possible that he is just insane.
During his escape through the bus station in this episode, however, Ward reveals that not only can he detect most S.H.I.E.L.D agents, he does not want to hurt them. He very noticeably warns Triplett (B.J. Britt) about the bomb that is wrapped around him, and he has fun toying with and blowing Morse’s (Adrianne Palicki) cover without hurting her.
Which side Ward is on remains to be seen, though I think we can safely assume it is whatever side Skye is on. In the end, there are too many unknowns surrounding Ward, which thankfully makes him a slightly more interesting character than he has been. I’m relieved Brett gets to do more!
Next week’s episode looks to be a real zinger for the series. Not only have we nailed down the meaning behind the writing, but our HYDRA friends are on the loose, one of which is bound and determined to settle a personal score. From the looks of it Raina is back, presumably with some information she has gleaned, and Leo Fitz gets to go on his first mission since Ward’s attack. The overall episode looks like it is going to be jam-packed, which ideally means an hour of fun. Hopefully our other characters get to shine a little more (I am sure they will), and we will be left with our breaths taken away. The midwinter hiatus is coming up, and I am looking forward to seeing where the action pauses!

Before continuing a joint, two person Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. analysis, WormholeRiders News Agency management would like to say goodbye to Holly Wilson as an active contributor to Team WHR.
Holly Wilson joined Wormholeriders News Agency (WHR) a little over eighteen months ago on April 06, 2012 subsequent to a standard volunteer employee interview.
After the interview, Holly agreed to abide by, be bound by, and follow all WormholeRiders Standards and Policies without exception as is required of any candidate requesting consideration as a WHR staff reporter prior to being granted approval.
Holly initially reported to Patricia Stewart-Bertrand on the WHR Eureka team, and to myself on the WHR Warehouse 13 analysis team. Holly became a (had been a) good contributor who always turned her reviews in on time, often a day ahead of deadline. WHR always thanked her for each review on our web sites and on social media.
Nevertheless, Holly express a strong desire to write analysis for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. because she admires the work of series creator Joss Whedon.
WHR management was about to stop approving additional assignments in the hope that things would settle down, but relented when she promised to have reviews in on time. Unfortunately, it was impossible for Holly to meet the WHR Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. analysis team requirements that she had originally agreed to.
Sadly, Holly Wilson tendered her resignation earlier today. We will miss her, but hope to remain friends with her, depending of course on her behavior.
In closing this prologue, I sincerely thank Holly for her contributions to WHR and wish her and her family well, in fact, nothing but the best in the future.
Holly’s Thoughts on 0-8-4:
This week’s episode opens BIG with 0-8-4 which translated means Object of Unknown Origin, the prior 0-8-4, Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) explains to Skye (Chloe Bennet), was a Hammer, and we all know how that turned out!
Buckle your seat belts, grab your coaster, and settle into your bunk as we analyze a week in the life of #AgentsofSHIELD !
The scene opens with The Bus in flight and Agent Coulson has just mentioned over his comm, something about there being blue skies from here on out…….
The next scene shows an explosion blowing a hole in the side of The Bus and Agent Coulson being thrown about the cabin! Somebody is yelling ‘Hold On’! What has happened and where is backup?! How on earth or the verse did somebody get a bomb on the Bus, have they been shot in mid-air?! What is happening people?! Moreover, where is Ironman?
Were dropped into a scene with The Bus being loaded, Skye is there, with her van and all her belongings are being carried onto The Bus! We see she has a little touchstone, what is that….is that a geisha doll with a wobbly head…..maybe not but close enough! As Skye gets the last of her stuff from her van, she adds ‘No joy rides, it’s my house’! Before she turns and enters The Bus, and her new world as an Agent of SHIELD, did you notice…..one of the guys stuck something on her van….what is that little pyramid thingy….a GPS tracker, a homing device, a really cool speaker?! I do not know what it is but I bet it comes into play later, so we have noted it and will keep that in mind for a later date perhaps!
Agent Ward (Brett Dalton) comments that Skye is just not qualified to be a SHIELD agent, Coulson agrees that Skye isn’t that’s why he invited her on as a consultant, and he reminds Agent Ward that technically Stark is a consultant also and that’s turned out pretty good for everyone! Seems Skye might be in good company on this one! I want to be a consultant! Ward is concerned about her past, and of Skye’s ties to something called ‘Rising Tide’ and he reminds Coulson that she has successfully hacked into the SHIELD network twice, with not so state of the art equipment! Coulson’s response, imagine what she will do with the resources of SHIELD behind her! Okay, lets see where this goes…I hope were not jumping on the Van wagon too soon with this girl, sorry about the pun, well….not really! Lol
Bus driver Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) reminds Coulson that they already have two untrained kids on the team and now another is being added? She does not seem happy about this development and neither does Ward! Coulson assures them that their frowns will be put on record, but he has made the decision and Skye will be added to the team!
The mission this week is object of unknown origin, what our agents call a 0-8-4! And even Coulson says ‘We don’t know what that means’! However, our destination IS set we are going to Peru, so get your suntan lotion and camera phones on the ready, it could be tropical, there could be a beach, either way there is sure to be unknown stuff happening, you should bring any extra grenades if you have them… Just saying….
Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) find Skye a bunk cause per the intercom its wheels up, lock it or lose it! Ward hand’s Skye a map, this is no normal map, tis the exit map for The Bus in case of emergency evacuation! Coulson shows up to welcome Skye to the party, a few niceties are exchanged, mention of the battle for New York, a sceptre through his heart, Tahiti being magical, him getting the plane having it refurbished, studs up! They have a seat, Coulson likes people to use coasters, another thing to remember, they buckle up and are off!
Sidebar Note: This magical place they call Tahiti – I think we should keep this tidbit in mind for later use also… Just saying
We land safely in Peru and the team arrives at what looks like an archaeological dig! Fitz and Simmons are talking ancient artifacts, local wildlife, monkeys and snakes and just rambling on about techie stuff, I like these two! Melinda May immediately feels they are excessively exposed out in the open, she goes to put their vehicle in a more undisclosed location. Skye seems confused as to why she is even there, Coulson explains to her that she is there in case her attributes are needed, otherwise, just tag along!
Coulson meets the Professor (Carlos Leal), the man in charge of this site on the steps of what looks like an ancient pyramid of sorts. Coulson introduces himself as the Professor begins to explain why SHIELD was called, he has found an artifact and it doesn’t seem to be in the right place, the site has been dated to at least 500 years old, but this artifact, well it glows, with blue lights and it made of high tech metal! It is not 500 years old! This could be a problem, also Coulson asks him whom he has notified besides SHIELD and the Professor says the Ministry of Peru – great, whew – that might be a problem people!
Simmons has pulled out some SHIELD tech in the form of Sleepy, one of the Quadcopter modules, the flying tech! Personally, I love this stuff, the tech, the acronyms, and the very premise that someone is working in the background, to try to keep the world safe from monsters! Anyway, Sleepy is analyzing the artifact – size, internal workings, and specs in general. When Sleepy’s analysis comes back, Simmons is in shock as she tells them the artifact actually predates the wall it is latched onto by at least 1500 years…..whoa! Simmons says…maybe alien…..Fitz says looks more German…
As we join, Melinda May outside, Ward is saying something about her not having a sidearm, and Melinda calmly states that if she needs a sidearm, she will take one! Then which turns out to be a big mistake, Ward pops off that he forgot he was working with the Calvary – Melinda looks at him – with that look, that we already know and love – and she say ‘Don’t ever call me that’! Ward agrees but gives us a little back-story on Melinda May, seems she was a real badass in Bahrain, and went into retirement after that.
While May and Ward were talking old times it seems some Peruvian rebels were surrounding them, from behind and the sides, Ward and May are jumped, Melinda takes down two guys in the blink of an eye and took both their guns from them, so she has two – one in each hand! Ward also did okay, has one person by the neck and it is a standoff – then from around one of the jeeps comes a really pretty woman decked out in cammo ….who could this be?
And to all our amazement, Coulson walks out of the pyramid speaking fluent Spanish, its Whedon awesome, brilliant and shiny indeed! He is the ultimate version of my perfect man, calm, collected and wears that suit so nice! Okay back to the story! Well, turns out he knows this woman! She recognizes him first and calls him ‘Phillip’, he responds and says ’Camilla’ (Leonor Varela) and yep, seems they have history, and not just a working together kinda thing people! O….yes! Agent Coulson has been doing more than a little research with our rebel leader during a chapter of his past….possibly in Tahiti?
With one word, she has her rebel army stand down; Coulson begins introducing the SHIELD team to Camilla! While in the pyramid thingy, Skye, Fitz and Simmons are trying to figure out what this thing on the wall is…then Fitz says…. It’s alive and they all kinda geek out – Skye asks, alive alive? Fitz answers that is has a functioning power source! Omuhgods! IT’S ALIVE! Ward drops in to tell them that they have company, not actually rebels but the State Policia, Skye know all about the uprising in this area of the world and Ward reminds her that she is not talking from the safety of her van, down by the river. Fitz and Simmons are begging for more time, are they in danger…..do they really have to go….Ward says no, as long as everyone does their job!
And I spoke too soon, Camilla and Coulson are reminiscing about old times when there’s gunfire, explosions, people running and yelling everywhere! The rebels have come for the device and Ward yells for the team to load it up! Let’s go! But before we go, I grabbed a screen cap of the case that Sleepy was in…..looky guys…..all the Quadcopters have the names of the seven dwarfs from Snow White! Cute huh?! There is even one named Snow White 00 – I wonder if that is a special one…..just wondering….
They needed containment for the device but there was no time, Ward grabs it off the wall and off they go! Fitz is really upset about Ward just grabbing it off the wall, Ward says science class is over and throws it into one of their bags! Skye, Fitz, Simmons and Ward are all trapped in the pyramid when Ward yells ‘Get back’ pulls this thing from his coat, Coulson tell Camilla to yell hat her men to get down, Ward jumps down the stairs pull this thing out and jams it into the ground and BAM! Sonic Boom blast happens and all the rebels and anything standing goes flying backwards and to the ground!
Camilla’s and Coulson make a run for her truck while the rest of the SHIELD team SHIELD truck with Melinda driving and they head towards the airstrip dodging rebel gunfire, there’s smoke and explosions everywhere! This is not going to be a peaceful trip through the jungle my friends! Melinda gets to The Bus first, Ward begins to close the ramp with Melinda yelling that Coulson is still out there! Ward gives backup as Coulson, Camilla and a few of her armed policia run up the ramp and safety! Skye mentions that she really misses her van! Whew! What a ride!
Fitz has been trying to tell everybody about the ‘Device’, to be careful with it, now as the ramp is raised and the gunfire subsides he explains…..this thing is powered by the same thing that power Captain America – Hydra WWII technology – its full of lethal amouts of gamma radiation! Ward – so its nucular… Coulson….no, its much much worse….
Coulson steps up to make sure May, who is driving The Bus, is doing okay with what just went down in Peru. He apologizes for subjecting her to the fire-fight and asks her if there’s anything else he can do for her before he goes to check out the device, powered by evil, that sits in their cargo bay…..May obviously has nothing to say, she has that steely look of determination and focus on her face! Yep, excellent bus driver!
Simmons is taking the device from the bag, notice she is wearing gloves, which should help a lot and keep the worse than nuclear power out of the nervous system! Coulson is sending Camilla’s guys that made it upstairs, where they will be more comfortable, while he and Camilla discuss where they are taking the device.
Coulson tells Camilla that they are headed for a SHIELD containment facility; she is suggesting an airstrip nearer to their current location. Sweetie, that is not gonna happen – please!
Fitz, Ward, Skye and Simmons are having a bit of a squabble when Coulson comes in and asks if everything is okay in there, Ward admits they are having a bit of a communication problem, within the team when Skye pops up and volunteers to be the team captain!
Coulson reminds them all that they do need to iron out the kinks, and he continues; Ward, you do speak 6 languages; Simmons, you have PhD’s in two fields I can’t pronounce; and Fitz you ARE a Rocket Scientist – so work it out! Skye yells after him, ‘I’m good at stuff too’!
Everybody seems to be settling in quite nicely, Fitz and Simmons are still checking out the device, Camilla’s guys have eaten and are kicking back, Skye and Ward are discussing world issues and not agreeing on much at all.
Coulson and Camilla have adjourned to Coulson’s office, he has quite a collection of what he calls touchstones to the past, he like having them around, also noted, most are glued down!
Coulson thinks Camilla is acting weird, Ward sees a couple of Camilla’s men, and they seem to be waiting for something, then we see another of her men, standing outside the lab, watching Fitz and Simmons……something is not good here kiddos!

We continue our WonderCon 2011 coverage with an awesome set of interviews with the executive producer and celebrities of V Series. On afternoon Sunday April 03, 2011 with courtesy from Warner Brothers Entertainment Publicity, WHR was fortunate to be able to attend V Series press room to bring you these exclusive interviews!
V Series is a television program with an international setting that is actually shot primarily in Vancouver British Columbia. Introduced in late 2009 on ABC, the series went on to a second season in 2011 with the addition of new main characters and new location background location shots of from various locations and green screen and outstanding special visual effects technology that greatly enhanced the exciting characteristics of the show.
V Series is broadcast on ABC networks produced by Warner Brothers and is written in part by the executive producer Mr. Rosenbaum. WormholeRiders News Agency (WHR) has great hopes that V Series will be renewed for a third season by ABC and return the series to their line-up in 2012. As mentioned in the interviews, you can support V Series by tweeting to ABC and “liking” Project Alice on Facebook as well as writing nice letters to ABC to demonstrate your support.

This episode also introduced a new character, Lars Tremont, portrayed by Marc Singer. Singer is no newcomer to the V story line having played freedom fighter Mike Donovan in the original 1980’s V dual epic mini-series. For those who have not seen the episode, Lars Tremont is the leader of Project Aries. Project Aries is a secret new government organization monitoring the Visitors.
The episode opened with Erica Evans(Elizabeth Mitchell) having a nightmare of Anna Visitor (Morena Baccarin) sitting on the edge of her bed holding a gun. That is something nobody wants to awaken to! Anna told Erica that only she could understand what it felt like to make decisions and hard choices.
In order to survive, she must be devoid of all humanity like herself. This entire season we have watched as Erica struggled with her decisions since taking control of the Fifth Column.
The Fifth Column orchestrated a fake kidnapping to lure Anna out into the open where Lisa Visitor (Laura Vandervoort) would render the final blow. However, once again, they have underestimated Anna.
Sensing that she was being set up, Anna played on Lisa’s human emotions. She told her that she did not realize how much the human skin had affected her until Lisa was kidnapped and she was faced with the fear of losing her. Lisa could not go through with it. One can imagine the surprise when Lisa and Anna walked out of the warehouse together. Erica questioned Lisa but she lets Erica know that she is just as merciless as her mother before meeting with the ruthless bitch Anna.
On board the mother ship, Ryan and Joshua Visitor (Mark Hildreth) free imprisoned Queen Diana (Jane Badler) from her dungeon. Erica called to let Ryan know that Anna was still alive and to get off the ship. Joshua urged Diana to go back to her cell. However, she wanted to assume her rightful place as queen. While Marcus Visitor (Christopher Shyer) apparently stays loyal on the surface, Anna asks Joshua to gather her people. Diana told her people that the human soul was a gift, and that they should embrace emotion and humanity.
Erica also told them that Anna was ill-equipped to be queen and that she had imprisoned Diana for 15 years. Just when we thought Diana was going to be queen again, she is stabbed with a tail through her heart. Not just any tail, it was Anna’s tail! Diana’s dying words to Anna were “ you have doomed us all.” Evil Anna Visitor (Morena Baccarin) turned to Lisa and said “that is how you kill your mother.”
Lisa Visitor was taken to the same dungeon that housed her grandmother Queen Diana while Anna tried to use Visitor technology to find out who was responsible for Lisa’s abduction while watching the kidnapping video. Anna discovered that Chad Decker (Scott Wolf) was one of the kidnappers so she sent for him. That is the very last we see of Chad Decker for now. I have hope that Anna needs Chad for good publicity. Or maybe she plans to have Chad killed for his suspected treachery?
Joshua insisted that Ryan leave the ship before Anna could get to him, but he would not leave without his daughter Amy (Cassidy Mahler). Ryan went to Amy’s room to persuade her to leave the ship. Amy would not leave with her father because of Anna’s lies. Amy saw Anna as her mother, and she would not let Ryan hurt her. As hard as it was to watch, Amy told Ryan that “you left me here to die.” Amy then killed her father with her tail. It was difficult to see this long time character’s demise by his own child.
Erica warned Tyler to get off of the ship, and she told him the truth about the V’s. Tyler told her he would not leave until he heard it from Lisa herself. In the mean time, Anna, Marcus (Christopher Shyer), and Joshua discussed the queen egg Anna kept. She kept the egg in case Lisa was unable to breed with Tyler. Anna watched in amazement as the new egg hatched and her new daughter was born. Anna instructed Joshua “put skin on my new daughter, and make sure she looks exactly like Lisa”.
As illustrated below, Lisa number two gives a hug to dear “Mom” Anna Visitor as she accepts her breeding mission orders and gets ready for her duty and a tasty snack in the process!
Poor Tyler went to have relations with Lisa not knowing it was the substitute provided by Anna. Evil Anna wasted no time and started the breeding process. It appeared that Lisa’s punishment was to be in the same dungeon as her grandmother. Anna made sure Lisa would have a front row seat to Tyler and the other Lisa’s breeding.
After they mated, Tyler was killed. This will be very hard for Erica to deal with in the future because her biggest mission was to get Tyler away from Anna. Or will Anna make a new Tyler from the reptile brood conceived by Lisa the Second?
Erica went to fifth column headquarters and discovered that Kyle Hobbes (Charles Mesure) had disappeared. It is a shame we did not get to see what happened to this character. Erica returned home only to be kidnaped! At this point, I was sure the V’s had her. When they took the hood off of her, there is a man standing in the shadows. Erica said “now just untie one hand and it will be a fair fight.”
This scene is where our new character comes in, Lars Tremont. He untied Erica and introduced himself. Lars explained to Erica that he is the head of a secret government organization, Project Aries. They have been following the V’s for sometime. They know that the V’s are not there on friendly terms. Erica discovered that A.D. Paul Kendrick (Roark Critchlow) and Chris Bolling (Jay Karnes) also worked for Project Aries. For awhile it seemed that A.D. Paul was working with the V’s. However, he was not.
As the season finale ended, we saw Anna ready to bliss all humanity. Marcus Visitor (Christopher Shyer) warned her that it might kill her, but Anna insisted she try. Blood poured down Anna’s face as she tried to bliss the humans. Amy saw this and said “mother stop! I will do it for you.” In return, Anna said “you are truly a miracle my child” is a scene similar to the miracle child in V The Final Battle.
Project Aries then discovered that something was terribly wrong and Erica went above ground. What she found was something that Anna had been trying to do for two seasons. Erica saw that the humans are blissed and looking up at the mother ship. It was sad to see that Father Jack Landry (Joel Gretsch) was also blissed. This might change his position in fifth column. If there will even be a fifth column since Project Aries is now discovered.
Mother’s Day was rightfully named. We saw a Erica try to protect her son, Tyler. Anna killed her mother, Diana and Amy protected her step mother, Anna. Mother’s Day reminded us, that as humans, we protect our children. Anna is not a human. Therefore, she killed her mother, and threw her child in the dungeon like the vicious reptile that she is. In the last few seconds we observe the Visitor fleet coming to Earth!
Diana’s speech about the human soul, being a gift they should embrace, was never more evident than in this episode. Amy is half human. Therefore, she protected her mother. It will be very interesting to see how Amy juggles her human emotions with her V side. We are left with all humans blissed, and the rightful queen, Diana, apparently killed. Or was she?
If you look at the last few second of the clip included below courtesy of ABC via Hulu, Diana is apparently still breathing! Could the real Queen return in season three? This is a huge cliffhanger. We must wait until next season to find out what will be the fate of humanity.
WormholeRiders News Agency was covering WonderCon 2011 extensively this past weekend. In attendance during the convention were V Series celebrities Elizabeth Mitchell, Marc Singer, and Warner Brothers executive producer Scott Rosenbaum. They talked about V Series season two hinting to what we might expect in a season three if approved for production.
As discussed at the panel and in the Warner Brothers Press Room, there may be a new alien race next season which could unite the Visitors and citizens of Earth to fight a new enemy! Or will this new alien race be friends to the Visitors or foes? This will definitely change the dynamic of the show and is an exciting development to contemplate.
Hinted at during the panel, V Series may have a new character (if a third season is approved) played by legendary actor Michael Ironside. As all fans recall, Ironside was in the original show as Ham Tyler. Amy will stop this rapid growth development in her mid 20’s. The V Series panel also talked about the mystery of what happened to Kyle Hobbes (Charles Mesure)?
Like Chad Decker (Scott Wolf), Kyle Hobbes was called back to the mother ship in a scene cut from the finale. As discussed at WonderCon 2011 will evil Anna Visitor (Morena Baccarin) kill them both? While Mr. Rosenbaum indicated that more characters “may” not be eliminated, the ultimate fate of Chad Decker and Kyle Hobbes is yet to be determined!

Heyla V Series fans, loyalists, fifth column and resistance:
And welcome to my review of V Series, season two, episode nine entitled “Devil in a Blue Dress.” This episode was the penultimate episode, and it was pretty terrific!
Because I am still new at this whole reviewing thing I have enjoyed trying out different approaches to it. This week I decided to try out another new approach. I hope you like.
1. It Happened in Diana’s Lair
Marcus Visitor (Christopher Shyer) entered Queen Diana’s (Jane Badler) dungeon lair; he appeared dumbfounded to see her alive. I imagined that due to his utter shock at seeing Diana his logic sensors shut off completely, (something which has happened to me quite often).
Marcus asked for her to state her purpose in seeing him. If his logic sensors had been working I do not think he would have had to ask that. I suppose she could have asked to see him because after fifteen years she finally got lonely and decided that she missed him, or maybe she had just made a fresh batch of oatmeal raisin cookies and she wanted him to taste test for her. *giggles*
Of course, Diana replied that she was seeking his loyalty to their species, but really she meant herself. Marcus was still loyal to Anna at that moment. I do not think he was ready to pledge his allegiance to his former queen. (Could she be his mother?) He even threatened to tell Anna that he spoke with Diana, but he does not do it.
Diana talked about Anna’s emotions claiming that pride, Anna’s first emotion, was what caused her to overthrow her. She said that Anna’s scream on Red Sky Day was so loud that she heard it all the way down in the bowels of the ship. Okay, she did not say that exactly, but she was aware of it?
Marcus stuck up for Anna saying that this was an isolated incident, and that he had seen no further signs of emotion in her. Diana was smart enough not to argue, and instead chose to plant seeds of doubt inside of his head knowing that those seeds would sprout into suspicion and second guessing of Anna’s every move.
It was at this time she discovered that Dr. Sidney Miller (Brett Harrison) was about to blow up tens of thousands of people, and why she told Ryan who then went on to save them all, sort of). Diana was surprised to hear that Anna could bliss humans; I wondered if she was jealous because this was something that she could never do?
She was also very interested to learn of Lisa’s human resistance friends. Diana told Lisa that they needed to work together with these humans so that they could all accomplish the one goal they had in common -dethroning Anna. So now you know that if this plan of theirs succeeds that it all began in Diana’s lair.
2. Anna, bliss, and humans:
Queen Anna Visitor (Morena Baccarin) decided to try blissing a human. Where did this human woman come from? Was she a live aboard or one of the people they have kidnapped for experimentation? Joshua Visitor (Mark Hildreth) and Marcus were with her at the time. Marcus was worried about Anna trying this because apparently when Diana tried the same thing it almost killed her. Anna, showing off that pride her mother spoke of, replied that her mother was weak. Joshua argued with Marcus, seeming annoyed that Marcus was trying to stand in the way of their victory over the humans. Anna yelled at them both to stop. I loved how emotional all three of them were in this scene while they were trying to rid emotions out of this unfortunate human woman
The procedure was not easy or pretty, it involved a lot of screaming by both the human and Anna, and caused the Queen to bleed quite un-regally from her eyes, while losing the strength to stand. But in the end it worked, the woman was so blissed out that she swallowed the immolation pill given her by Anna, even after claiming she understood that swallowing it would kill her.
I was quite horrified yet impressed by Anna’s victory. I liked the idea of her being able to control humans through her bliss. Anna, who seemed to be rocking on the edge of madness, asked Joshua if this meant she could now mass bliss the human populace. Joshua was not certain and Marcus reminded her that blissing this one woman almost killed her. Marcus did not think that Anna should continue to pursue this plan, but Anna was quite drunk with power in this moment and she commanded Joshua to find a way to make it work.
Anna decided to bliss Tyler and was also successful. This blissing (I imagine) was less traumatic because of the high amounts of phosphorus in his system was less noisy and traumatic. However Anna still bled from her eyes. And the experience was quite draining for her. This human blissing thing is either going to get easier over time or it will be the death of her.
3. Anna and Little Amy:
Before Anna attempted to bliss a human she talked to Joshua and Marcus about Visitor Fifth columnist Ryan Nichol’s (Morris Chestnut) daughter, named Amy, who although half human still accepted Anna’s bliss. Anna was encouraged that Amy’s human side did not reject her bliss and she commanded Joshua to find out why.
Joshua remarked that these tests would be intrusive and that they could harm her. Now the last time Joshua remarked that doing something to the then unnamed hybrid could harm or even kill her Anna had coldly responded then she will die serving her queen. But this time Anna actually thought twice about it, Marcus reminded her how important her being able to control the humans was and that they were running out of time, so then she gave Joshua permission to go ahead with it. But still it was progress.
In the beginning Anna called Amy a mongrel and wanted her killed. It was only when she realized that Amy could be used as a way to control Ryan did she allow her to live, and then she made her sick on purpose as another means of controlling Ryan. She recently began growth experimentation on her, growing her from a baby to a toddler to a pre-school aged child until this episode where she appeared to be around eight years old. Anna had not been at all kind to this child, but even so she did appear to be warming towards her slightly. She was playing her mother, after all. Not that Anna was ever much of a mother to her real daughter, Lisa, but with her new emotions she was thawing slightly?
Joshua later told Anna he had learned the reason for little Amy’s ability to accept Anna’s bliss easily was that her father had given Valerie Stevens (Lourdes Benedicto) her real mother phosphorus while pregnant with her, and that the phosphorus had given her heightened abilities. Anna was quite excited to learn more about what Amy could do. (Did she just have a proud mother flash or was it simply evil scientist excitement over discovering her latest experiment could do a new trick?)
Later Anna was recuperating on the sofa in her lounge when Amy entered. She smiled at Anna, called her Mommy, which is so sad, and then tried to give her bliss to make her feel better. Anna was surprisingly gentle with her, and she was puzzled as to why Amy would think to do that. Amy replied simply that she loved her. If that cold cold bitch had a heart then that scene was the closest she had ever come to showing it. She hugged her hybrid- stolen daughter, and almost seemed to enjoy it.
I doubt that anyone had ever spoken those words to her; and that previously if they had they would have been skinned, but little Amy just got away with something that I don’t think anyone else on this planet could.
One note of interest is that Marcus saw and I believe that those seeds of doubt planted in him by Diana sprouted a little bit. I would not be at all surprised to see him helping everyone try to take Anna down in next week’s episode
4. Sid the Science Guy and What He Did:
Dr. Sidney Miller (Bret Harrison) figured out that Concordia was actually Anna’s plan to build landing sites for her invading space ships. He called all of his resistance club members for a meeting. Kyle Hobbes (Charles Mesure) wondered how they could destroy each and every Concordia landing site, because News Anchor Chad Decker (Scott Wolf) informed them all that over five hundred of these were being built all over the world.
We observe FBI Agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell), who was the brains of the operation as well as their fearless leader pointed out that they did not need to destroy these landing sites they just needed to prevent them from being built. She proposed that they blow up the blue energy reactor at the New York Concordia site, hoping that this would cause a public panic making people question how safe the blue energy was. If people and the government believed blue energy was unsafe then they would not allow the landing sites to be built.
Sid, the science guy, figured out how to make the blue energy balls (that Lisa stole for them) to work, and how to use them to safely sabotage the Concordia site reactor. His friends were surprised but proud. They were so proud that they made him dress up as a construction worker and then sneak into the Concordia building site so that he could do the sabotage work.
Poor Sid was really scared, but his mean friends made him do it anyway. (Well he was the only one who knew how to do it, and they were trying to prevent a worldwide alien invasion) They even made him go in alone. But Sid was very brave, and he countered his fears by doing what he did not want to do. I was so proud of him!
Lisa told Diana who told Lisa who called Ryan who followed Sid into the blue energy reactor room so that he could tell him. Erica, Hobbes, and ex-priest Jack Landry (Joel Gretsch) saw Ryan and they followed him to. Sid activated the tiny blue energy balls given to them by Lisa, and then he picked up a remote detonator.
Ryan entered and he told Sid that he had to stop what he was doing, but Sid, who remembered that Ryan was a bad guy, did not believe him. Ryan told Sid that there are two kinds of blue energy, inert, and weaponized. Ryan asked Sid if he was one-hundred percent positive that he did not weaponize his blue energy balls. Then Ryan tried to tackle Sid and Sid accidentally hits the trigger detonating his blue bomb.
After the blue energy reactor debacle Sid was playing around with his infra-red binoculars the ones he made to be able to see blue energy, and he made a discovery that they were surrounded by tons of other mother ships, not just the New York one. Sid discovered that the invading army was not on its way, but that it was already there. Way to go Sid! High five!
5. Ryan a Hero?
And
6 Erica Makes a Choice and Regrets It:
Erica, Hobbes, and Jack arrived right after Sid accidentally hit the detonator, with guns pointed at Ryan. Ryan told them all that they needed to deactivate their bomb because if they did not it would blow up everything within one-hundred square miles killing tens of thousands of people. His ex-friends did not believe him, so Ryan told them that Lisa sent him there. He asked how else would he have known where to find them? (He would not admit to stalking all of them)
Erica, as leader of the fifth column had a difficult choice to make. Jack, of course was telling her that they had to shut the reactor down because Sid did not know to deactivate the bomb. Hobbes, of course was shouting at her to not believe Ryan. There were a few very tense moments are the reactor was shooting pretty sparks and getting ready to blow. In the end Erica chose to shut it down. I definitely thought that she made the right decision. Ryan managed to shut it down using his mad V hacking skills. I truly believe that Anna chose the wrong profession for him. He may have been bred to be a hunter, and she may have thought that he did a good job, but he was way better at using computers to blow things up or using them to prevent things from blowing up, in my humble estimation, at least.
Ryan was a hero that day. Was his heroic action on this day enough to redeem his previous actions of betraying his friends and getting Eli Cohan (Oded Fehr), the previous leader of the worldwide fifth column network killed? I do not believe it was, but still he did do a good deed. And if I can forgive Hobbes and feel no ill will towards him, then I should at least try to give Ryan credit when it is deserved. Although technically Diana and Lisa did just as much in their own way to save the day as Ryan did. And then there is the always the question of did they really save the day or did they condemn the world?
Shutting down the blue energy reactor caused a blackout. The humans believed it was a malfunction in their own power grid. Anna was told the truth by Marcus, but instead of having him confess this to the humans she had him offer blue energy to get power up and running again, which then had the opposite effect that Erica wanted to have and caused the public to cry for the Concordia sites to be built even faster. Erica was sooo not happy about that! She broke a chair and said that they should have blown the site. She said that they were not taking enough risks and that they had just handed Anna another victory. Jack pointed out that had they done that they all would have died, but Erica was too angry and disappointed to feel happy that they were not all dead.
7 . There is a Solution / Fifth Column and Resistance Working Together:
Lisa went to Erica’s house for dinner. Tyler was supposed to have gone, but he was too busy being blissful to remember. Lisa gave Erica the bad news. (Erica was very upset. She said that they were now defeated if Anna could bliss humans). But Lisa told her no, that there was still a way to win if Erica was willing to take a risk. Hmm, I am sensing a theme here!
Erica brought Ryan and Lisa to a resistance / fifth column meeting. Hobbes wanted to shoot Ryan, but Erica told him that even though she did not like or forgive Ryan that they needed him. She told her team that they needed help desperately and they needed to take risks to do it. Then Lisa turned on her V holo communicator thingamajig, and a lovely vision of Diana appeared. Diana shared her story and told them that they needed to work together to overthrow Anna. Erica agreed, and next week is going to be so amazing!!!!!
V Series returns with the season two finale “Mother’s Day” Tuesday March 15, 2011 at 9 PM EST / PST on ABC.

And welcome to my review of V Series episode eight, entitled “Uneasy Lies the Head”. I will admit to not quite understanding this title. Generally, I am pretty good at figuring out how the title fits in, but I went into this episode hoping for a beheading of some kind. *giggles* Oh well! It was still a terrific episode that left me wanting more.
Okay, so we see a female live aboard being tortured in Anna Visitor’s (Morena Baccarin) needle machine. The needle machine’s purpose is to extract one unique strain of DNA from every carefully selected specimen. This particular strain is the finest genetic material mankind has to offer!
Visitor Joshua, (Mark Hildreth), was supervising the DNA extraction along with Anna. Once the DNA is extracted the two of them follow a technician across the hall to a new super cool looking V techochine that they are using to mix and store, all of the DNA they are stealing. Joshua tells Anna that the final batch of DNA material will arrive tomorrow. Joshua actually said that the final batch of live aboards would arrive tomorrow, but I am sure that is what Anna heard.
Erica Evans, acting like any boss asks if their internet connection with their out of town comrades-at-arms is secure. Dr. Sidney Miller replies, “Nah, I thought I would run this little pow-wow through Facebook.” I love his jokes; he and Hobbes are both so funny! Kyle Hobbes, who is playing with a camera (Like I said last week that guy cannot sit still), informs Erica that it is one thing to get hired as the replacement leader of deceased Eli Cohan’s fifth column network, but it is another to prove herself with them. Erica thinks Kyle Hobbes is being overly dramatic.
Then Jack Landry and Chad Decker feel left out, so they chime in and say that Hobbes is right, she has a lot of new responsibility for a global network of people. As if Erica didn’t already know that? I am sure she was just playing it low key because if she really thought about what her new position meant she would freak out. At least that is what I would do.
They assemble Eli Cohan’s surviving lieutenants on the line and then Erica and the gang explain to them their plan which involves corrupting the DNA of some of the participants from Anna’s final batch with DNA bombs. (Awesome name!)
Chad is going to compile a master list with the names of every participant to distribute to Eli’s lieutenants because they want a DNA bomb inside of at least one live aboard participant on every ship in the world. The bomb will destroy the reproductive functions of any DNA it encounters, meaning that the DNA cannot be reproduced. What they hope will happen is that the corrupted DNA will mix in with the rest of the DNA Anna has collected and that it will ruin all of it. I think that this is a great plan; it is very bold and imaginative.
Eli’s lieutenants love her plan, but they tell her that it will let Anna know she has not destroyed the fifth column like she thinks she did by killing their leader. This attack will tell Anna that there is a new leader, which means that Anna will again be going after them with a vengeance. She will also likely want to go after the leader before anyone else, and so they ask her if she is ready to carry this burden.
Erica says that she is prepared to do whatever it takes. Dr. Sidney Miller tells everyone that the closest place to get the virus they need is at Jameson Labs, which they keep under lock and key. Jack asks how they are going to get the virus, and Erica replies that they will steal it. Naturally Hobbes is impressed.
Switch up to the mother ship, where Joshua is telling Anna that there is a situation with the twenty-nine breeding candidates. That morning in Beijing, one of the boys collapsed and died, and then a short time later another one died in Johannesburg. It seems to be some sort of deadly virus that the Visitors have not yet been able to identify. Anna wants to know how the other boys are; Joshua says they are fine as far as he knows. She then asks worriedly about Tyler. Joshua assures her that Tyler has shown no signs of illness during pilot training. “Take every precaution, determine the cause, and find a cure,” Anna urges Joshua.
Visitor Joshua (Mark Hildreth) says that fortunately the Johannesburg boy was touring the Johannesburg ship when he collapsed. His corpse is being sent to Joshua so that can conduct an autopsy. Anna tells him they need to keep every breeding option for Lisa open, and then Joshua reminds her that Rafael is the most viable backup in case her precious Tyler’s phosphorus does not get up to speed, but Lisa rejected him. Anna says it is okay, her breeding egg is nearing maturity so if Lisa will not put out then she will be dealt with like any other traitor.
Anna calls Lisa Visitor (Laura Vandervoort) to her, shows her the recording of her sending Rafael away. She tells her that she will be fertile soon, and that a lot is going to be expected of her. Anna needs to be reassured that when the time comes Lisa will make the right choices. Lisa, doing a good job of showing no emotion, tells her mother she has made plans with Rafael and that this time she will perform all of her duties.
Thomas Visitor (Martin Cummins) enters and asks for a private audience, he informs Anna that a complication has arisen with one of the new “Live Aboards”, a tiny little girl by the name of Jennifer Hartswell (Kennedi Clements). She has a uniquely high immune system that they have never seen in any other human. Her mother, Melissa, has been invited to live aboard (of course, there is no way any sane mother would allow her four-year-old child to go live alone on an alien ship). the mother Melissa Hartswell (Miranda Frigon) is apparently reluctant to move up. Anna instructs Thomas to do whatever it takes to alleviate Melissa’s concerns. Thomas says that Melissa wants to meet her, and Anna quickly agrees. She will handle her mother-to-mother.
Melissa Hartswell (Miranda Frigon) and Jennifer (Kennedi Clements)are brought up to the ship, where Anna does her best imitation of a kind and caring individual. I love the camera angles here, where we have a chance to see Anna from Jennifer’s perspective. If I had been Jennifer Anna would have scared me too.
Melissa is under the false assumption, that she herself is the invitee, and that the Visitors are only inviting Jennifer along to be nice, so she tells Anna that she does not want her living aboard the ship because there are no other children for her to play with. Anna, who is basically willing to do anything at this point to get this child’s DNA, tells Melissa that she herself has a daughter, who is the same age as Jennifer.
I thought Anna should have said that she had another daughter she was keeping secret from the public, because in season one, episode ten “Fruition” Anna announced to the world that Lisa was her daughter. But maybe Melissa was not watching the news that day, and she did not hear the announcement. Since we learned last week that Ryan Nichols (Morris Chestnut) cover had been blown, and Anna had lost her hold over him with his daughter (Cassia Mae Brown) she had no more use for him.
So in this week’s episode Ryan is given one final visit with his daughter, when they come to take her back one of the guards tries to shoot him with a really cool laser gun. Ryan fights back and ends up shooting the guard, who goes up in flames.
Erica and her gang break into the Jameson Labs building, wearing black ski masks and carrying Taser guns. Erica tasers a security guard and they steal his Identification card, which they use for entering through locked doors. Hobbes takes out another guard. They enter the correct laboratory where Sid finds the virus they need, but then a third guard enters with a gun.
The guard shoots Hobbes, Jack tackles him to the floor, the guard is trying to reach for his gun again and then Erica shoots him with the gun that they took off the first guard she shot. Jack freaks out, but then discovers that the guard is wearing a bullet proof vest. Then they grab the virus and leave.
They go back to Hobbes place; Jack takes care of Kyle’s bullet wound. I would like to know when Jack received his medical training. I find it interesting that he has these skills, yet he chose to become a priest. Was he forced to learn them while serving in Iraq? Because he has such a helper’s heart I could easily see him joining in the fray and setting to work tending the wounded while he was doing his priestly duties.
Dr. Sidney Miller is set up in in a bio-hazard suit and tent so that he can prepare the virus to destroy the reproductive functions of any DNA it encounters. Erica tells him to hurry it up because John Fierro (Zak Santiago) has a jet waiting to transport the virus throughout the world. Jack compliments Erica on her shooting abilities, but he does not really mean it. He is upset with her for shooting the guard.
Erica does not feel sorry, and she tells him so. They had a tight schedule with 28 jets waiting on them to transport the virus before the “Live Aboards” go up to the ships. She says she took the shot because she could not risk failure. Jack is still upset though, and watching Hobbes and Erica flirting with each other does not make him feel any better.
Thomas tells Anna that Ryan is not dead she tells him to send out guards to search for him. She is not too concerned because she does not believe that he has anywhere to run to. Lisa meets with Rafael (Charlie Carrick)
) she is kissing him when Tyler Evans ((Logan Huffman)) walks in on them. He and Rafael get into a tussle, and then Rafael starts bleeding from the eyes, and this disgusting pink gloppy stuff comes out of his mouth before he collapses to the floor. Rafael has been affected by the same illness that is affecting the other boys with the missing DNA.
Back at resistance headquarters, Chad has brought them the list of all the people moving on board the next day, he has already sent copies out to the other twenty-eight cities. Erica has to choose someone quickly from this city to infect. Sid walks in, announces that the virus is on its way out and remarks that he hopes the virus will remain stable when it finally interacts with its victims. Jack wants to know what he is talking about. Sid explains the virus is untested, and that there is a chance of serious side effects ……. Even death. Jack does not like this.
He accuses Erica of lying to him about the virus having no side effects. She told him it would not hurt anyone. Erica replies that if she told him the truth he would not have gone with them that far. Jack says, she is right, that he would not have. He does not want to help her any further, so Erica says that helping them is an order. They decide on a man named Will Lerner (Michael Karl Richards) to be their target. They track him down at his daily coffee shop. Erica flirts with him and slips the virus into his cup. She has to wait around for a while to give the virus time to work into his bloodstream. I believe that they are doing this on the morning that Will is moving onto the New York Mother ship.
Joshua tells Anna that Rafael is on life support, but is still alive. He explains that the stripped ladders in the boys DNA is collapsing, which is what is making them sick. Anna orders him to fix it, but Joshua says he cannot. The DNA mixture is the only solution. Until they acquire the last of the DNA from the “Live Aboards” they could lose all of the boys.
The Virus gets distributed throughout the world, and is successfully injected into one live aboard per twenty-nine ships. Will Lerner arrives on the New York mother ship; he is just standing in line being processed for entry when one of those possible side effects Sid talked about hits him, and he collapses. He is taken to the medical bay where Joshua informs Anna and Thomas that a virus has been introduced into his system, a virus that is altering his DNA.
Anna got really lucky with the timing here. If Mr. Lerner had not fallen ill when he did then Erica’s plan would have worked, his altered DNA would have gone into the mix, and it would all have been destroyed. Once Anna discovers that this is the plan, she orders every live aboard on every ship to be screened again, when the infected one is discovered they are to be healed, their DNA abstracted, and then they are to be killed. Anna says her only plausible explanation for these deaths is to say that they were fifth column terrorists who died doing terrorist stuff. Thomas points out that this action will draw the public’s attention back to the fifth column, and that it will effectively announce to the world that they are still active.
Anna growls that she does not have any other choice. She then threatens the unconscious Lerner, saying that if he wants to die for his cause then she shall grant him his wish. Poor Will! I doubt that Anna’s orders would have changed any even if she did know he was not fifth column.
Ryan finds Lisa, asks her to help him, she takes him to Queen Diana Visitor (Jane Badler) Diana remembers him, and agrees to help if he agrees to help her at some later date. She says she built these secret escape pods that are undetectable by both human and Visitor radar. She was imprisoned before she had a chance to use one. Ryan mentions his daughter; Diana wants to know what he is talking about. He says her mother was human, that she is a hybrid. Diana thought this was impossible. She is excited by the possibilities. Ryan says that Anna made her sick, and that only her bliss can cure her. Diana says that she has bliss, and that she can use it to help.
Chad gets the news about their plan failing, first, and then he announces it on his show. I think it is sweet that Erica, and Jack, and Hobbes all got together to show their love and support to Chad by watching his news broadcast live. Eli’s lieutenants are watching too, through the computer, and they are not pleased because they think that Erica’s plan failed. But Erica responds optimistically that although the plan seemed to fail on the surface, that in reality they did win a small victory by forcing Anna to admit to the world that the fifth column was still out there. She says, “We still have to stop Anna’s breeding problem, and we will! “ When the lieutenants ask what their next move will be she replies, “We stay on the offensive, and we don’t stop until we have won. “
Jack is still sad, so Erica asks Hobbes to take Sid out so she and Jack can be alone. He comments that 29 innocent people died, and he asks Erica why she will not acknowledge that. Erica explains that they are in a war and that in a war people die. She tells Jack that if she had this to do again she would. She attempts to leave; Jack grabs her arm, and says he refuses to believe that there is not a part of her that does not see the tragedy in this. Erica coldly looks him in the eye and says that the only tragedy here is that the DNA bombs failed. Jack gives her a look of sadness and confusion, as if he no longer recognizes the person she has become.
From my perspective it appears that, of course Erica is no longer the person she once was, she has changed, has been forced to by the circumstances around her, by the responsibility that has been placed upon her shoulders. In the beginning she tried to hold on, tried to protect the innocent, to harm only the guilty. But then she lost Joe and she lost Tyler, and now she knows that the only way to win this war is to do anything they can no matter who gets hurt, because now she recognizes that people will, but If she lets the Visitors win then the entire world will be lost.
Apparently Diana’s secret escape pods are located in the ceiling of Anna’s office. Lisa distracts Anna in another room while Ryan uses the pod to escape. Poor little Jennifer Hartswell is the last human to have her DNA extracted (at least they put her to sleep before they did it), once this is completed Anna orders Joshua to begin injecting all of the ”missing ladder boys” immediately, beginning with Tyler Evans. I think that because Anna has extended so much time and effort into that boy it makes letting go of him difficult. Not that she would hesitate to kill him, if it became apparent that he truly was useless.
Lisa goes down to visit with Diana. She thanks her for helping Ryan, Diana talks about emotions and how those Visitors who embrace them are stronger than those without them. Lisa does not understand, Diana says she will. And then she sends Lisa to a secret ally aboard ship. Lisa heads straight for the medical bay where she sends the technicians away so that she can speak to him alone. She tells him that Diana is alive. Who is he? He is Marcus Marcus Visitor (Christopher Shyer)!
Erica is home alone, thinking about stuff. She calls Jack, but Jack does not answer his phone. Erica was totally reaching out to him, and he missed his opportunity. Oh well, Erica and Hobbes are a better couple, anyway, since they are on the same side of the anti-ideological fence now.
Kyle Hobbes shows up at Erica’s door with a bottle. He tells her that a leader’s nights can get lonely with all of the second guessing, but he just wanted to tell her that she did good today! (Awe! Hobbes, you are so sweet!) Erica thinks so too, and invites him in. They have a drink from whatever is inside that bottle, scotch maybe? Hobbes asks Erica how she is holding up and she says she does not know, but is trying to stay tough. Hobbes tells her he understands and then tells her about Sarah, sort of, he says that he was in love once, but then she died. He looks so vulnerable and adorable here.
He promises that they are going to get Tyler back. I am sure Sarah must also be in the back of his mind, and I bet there is a plan lurking back there that includes rescuing her too. But it is likely pretty far back there because I am certain that during this moment of time he is thinking of one woman and one woman alone. Hobbes kisses that woman, a beautiful moment that leads to other fun beautiful things. I personally was very happy because I had been waiting all season for it to happen.
The episode ends with a very creepy scene where Anna undresses Tyler (she unbuttons his coat and takes it off for him) and then personally gives him the shot of the added DNA. She tells him it is to prepare his body for deep space flight, and that she would never harm him, or any other human being. (That line made me laugh for a while. In between shivers of terror because of the creepy look she has on her face when she says it!)
