    Hello once again Stargate fans,

Syfy Logo Chain Mail - Click to visit Stargate Universe on SyfyThis has been the most anticipated episode of Stargate Universe ever since I saw the preview over a week ago. Although, I have known about this episode for some time now, I put in my request that I write on this one. As I am a fan of Stargate Universe, that still did not take away from the fact that I am still a fan of Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1. To love one and not the other is ridiculous. I love each series for what they were and what they are.

Click to visit the fabled MGM Studios at their official web site! That being said, let us get on with the reason for your visit today. To read my thoughts on the Stargate Universe episode Seizure.

***SPOILER ALERT*** If you have not seen this episode yet, then stop right now and wait until you do.

On the other hand, if you do not mind reading what you have to look forward to, then by all means, keep reading. I will NOT write a play-by-play of the episode, that can get boring real fast. I will NOT jump around to different places as that will only confuse the hell out of you. I WILL however write in sequence from beginning to end the parts that stood out to me the most.

First of all, let me start off by adding in this lovely picture of Washington D.C. I am not adding it in for who it represents, but more of the beautiful landscapes and surrounding areas. I only wish that someday I will get to visit.

    SGU S2x15 Seizure - Washington

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Woolsey meets with Lengarens

Of course first we see our beloved Mr. Woolsey (Robert Picardo) trying to convince everyone that by using the Langeran stargate to dial the ninth chevron, they can get a good connection to get everyone aboard the Destiny home. Only problem was the leader of the Langerans (Victor Garber) wasn’t easily convinced. So seeing that Woolsey was having problems in convincing them, our other lovable guy, Col. David Telford (Lou Diamond Phillips), stepped in and said that they have someone who is qualified that this will work.

And who should we see walking in the door?

SGU S2x15 Seizure - And cue McKay

Yes, it’s our very own Dr. Rodney McKay (David Hewlett). This was a delight to see Rodney return to Stargate. And it was very cool how they brought McKay back into the Joe Flanigan as John sheppard from Stargate Atlantis Stargate series in the way they did.

With Dr. Nicolas Rush (Robert Carlyle) and Eli Wallace (David Blue) aboard the Destiny, and Col. Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) off doing her own thing, it only left us with McKay to solve the problem.

Now do not get me wrong, I like McKay,  however I personally like John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) a bit more is all! 😛

And of course, you can not have Rodney on any planet without some sort of technical gadget with him to solve the scientific problem!

In this case Rodney had his trusty laptop with him to try and convince the Langarens that HIS idea will work. Well of course it would. He is the one and only Dr. Rodney McKay after all 😛

SGU S2x15 Sezsure - McKay shows results

Even if I try to look past Rodney’s egotistical manners (wow, I typed that word correctly the first shot), he was a joy to watch. This fact made me miss Atlantis that much more. Though, the best part that I laughed my arse off was where Rodney used the communication stones and switched bodies to go on board the Destiny.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - McKay gets caught

I guess when it comes to certain areas on a woman, McKay does not notice the color of the hair. Of all the years we heard him say that blond women does something to him, (his constant mention of Samamtha Carter), it is quite the flip for him to sort of hit on a brunette. LOL. The line that had me cracking up was when Lt. James was on McKay duty and noticed that he was looking at something that he should not have been. “I’m up here” to Lt. Vanessa James (Julia Benson) as Rodney was transfixed by her feminine attributes!

SGU S2x15 Seizure - James gets McKay's attention

I still find myself laughing when I remember the looks on both their faces. Then of course McKay tried to be somewhat polite and offered “Ladies first.” Of course that kinda backfired as James did not move, leaving McKay to walk out ahead of her with his tail between his legs! :-P.SGU S2x15 Seizure - James is not impressed

The look on James’ face was of typical, “another boob man”. But I still could not help but giggle. I can not wait for the DVD’s, there has to be some funny behind the scenes from this episode for sure!

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Rush in the chair

Of course, it does not take long to figure out why Rush would want to sit in the chair VOLUNTARILY!

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Rush and Mandy together

Yep! Rush finally gets a bit!

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Chloe giving Col. Young an update

Then we observe Chloe Armstrong (Elyse Levesque) informing Col. Young (Louis Ferreira) that Rush hooked himself up to the chair, but he was not fixing or alternating anything. He was in some sort of virtual dream state thingy. No, I am not that technical when it comes to wording. This is as good as it gets, and if you know me on twitter, I have my own way of describing things.

Then we have our geek-fest with Eli and Rodney.

SGU S2x15 Sezsure - McKay debating with Eli

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Eli debating with McKay

I swear, it is a good thing that Rush is not among the rest of them cause I do not think that we could cope with three brilliant minds in the one episode.SGU S2x15 Seizure - Eli and McKay going head to head

Though, besides the fact that Rodney loved making himself seem way smarter then anyone else on any given day, he did manage to get out a compliment to Young about how smart Eli is. I found that to be a nice touch

SGU S2x15 Seizure - TJ and Greer back in infirmary

This is a beautiful scene with TJ (Alaina Huffman) and Sgt. Greer (Jamil Walker Smith). And then we can see Dale Volker (Patrick Gilmore) in the background, feeling much better then Greer is at the moment. From the last episode, we seen Greer give up his kidney to help someone in need. Unfortunate, Greer will need extra time to be himself again.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Eli got an idea

We then observe see Eli and Adam Brody (Peter Kelamis) trying to figure out what is happening to Rush. That is until Eli gets an idea and tells Brody to go back into the computer log records of what is being uploaded.

SGU S2xE15 Seisure - Brody looking over uploaded logs from chair

This is where I need some science geeks to tell me what is really happening. Where is my good friend Redone68?? She is way smarter when it comes to the science of things. I think she would have been a great asset to the brilliant minds on the Destiny.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - The famous Stargate

This is a great picture of the old style Stargate! It was so cool seeing it in action again.

    SGU S2x15 Seizure - KAWOOSH

And, we can never forget the huge KAWOOSH from the event horizon.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - The beautiful blue shimmer

With it ending with the lovely blue shimmer of an open wormhole. It takes me back when I saw the event horizon  open for the very first time. It still puts me in awe how the special effects by Mark Savela and his crew including Sonia Gilmore are able to make it appear so real!

SGU S2xE15 Seizure - Woolsey brings a giftSGU S2x15 Seizure - Lt. Scott takes overAnother part of all this that seems to never get old, is the using of the Ancient Communication Stones. One second you have you, the next you have a totally different conscience in your head, controlling your every action. The freaky thing about it is the fact that you are oblivious to it all. Freaky, but very cool!

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Capt sees Scott's reflection in mirror

Yet another part that had me laughing, was when the Captain of the Langerans (Darren A. Herbert) was in the body of  Lt. Matthew Scott and he looked into the mirror at his reflection. The amazing camera work to pull that off is nothing but astonishing. Plus it only goes to show how awesome these actors are when doing each episode. Mr. Brian J. Smith in his portrayal of Lt. Scott in my opinion demonstrates once again that is a very talented actor and does an amazing job.

Though, in saying that, I believe they all deserve their own recognition when it comes to trying and succeeding to make the characters in Stargate Universe believable each week including a special guest star Victor Garber as the Langaran Ambassador.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Telford and McKay

I am not sure about you, but does Telford not resemble General Jack O’Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) when it comes to scientists. Especially when it comes to McKay. I guess in a way, McKay makes it very hard to like, from a working with point of view. Mr. Hewlett on the other hand, seems to have a very large following. Especially on twitter.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Eli and Ginn

There was a lovely moment between Eli and Ginn (Julie McNiven) as well. This was a bittersweet one, where Ginn told Eli what Dr. Amanda Perry (Mandy – Kathleen Munroe) was doing and that Rush was in a lot of danger. Typically from actually dieing. And that he had to be the one to terminate the program for them (the girls) to be able to interact with their other half’s (the guys). This was tough for Eli.

SGU S2E15 Seizure - Rush's last kiss from MandyThere were also a fair amount of touching moments with Rush and Mandy. Until Mandy gave a small peck on the cheek that he felt that something was “off” a bit. Not really realizing he was still inside the ship, per say, just that something felt different.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Rush and Mandy watching Destiny explodingSo he thought he’s put his assumptions to the test and do a little fiddling around with the computers to see if his thoughts were right. And sure enough, when he confronted Mandy, she told him that he was going to kill everyone. He knew that was not the case, and they stood there and watched the Destiny blow up.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Mandy's last visitSGU S2xE15 Seisure - Rush is left aloneUnfortunately, because Ginn had warned Eli of Mandy’s plan and what she was doing. Eli had no choice to do what he done. Mandy could “feel” this and she confronted Rush about what she had tried to do.

To find a way to keep him there with her. She confessed to him that she did love him, and that that was the reason for her messing around with the program. She told him she will always love him and then she was gone. Unfortunately, we are left again to witness Rush go through another mourning. First with his wife, and then with Mandy – twice.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - Eli lets his feelings be known to Rush

When Rush finally wakes up in the infirmary it has been two days that he was in a coma. Again, TJ was so sympathetic with what Rush went through, as well as Eli. After all, if you think about it, it was Eli who had to severe all ties he could possible have with Ginn, just to save Rush. Of which Eli made that quite clear when Rush asked him, “what did you do?” Eli told him as much, if he did not do what needed to be done, Rush would be dead. TJ concurred with Eli, and Greer spoke up from his bed to tell Rush to listen to the good doctor. She knows what she is talking about.

I felt so bad for Eli. He lost Ginn once, then to get her back in the last episode, only for Mandy to screw it up, he had to essentially loose her again for the second time. Maybe he can figure a way to give her access and not tell anyone. Take a page out of Rush’s book for secrecy.

SGU S2x15 Seizure - The Destiny

I shall end my review with an amazing picture of the Destiny flying through space. On her way to her predestined destination. The talents of Mr. Mark Savela and his team can not go unnoticed. Very well done.

That concludes my review. Hope you all had a great read. Feel free to comment below, click on a button to share it, or you can catch me on twitter. Be sure to venture back next week when I will have my thoughts on the episode “The Hunt” posted for all to read. Until then we include the promotional trailer for “The Hunt” below courtesy of Syfy via Hulu.

I will end this analysis with some personal thoughts I have been wanting to say for a long time. I would have thought that the ratings would have gone up a few notches with this episode, solely because we have McKay back again. But I do not think that happened. I am surprised actually, that the fandom as a whole did not support this endeavor.

Yes, I would have loved to have had another season of Stargate Atlantis. Or the very least, the third Stargate SG-1 movie and the first Stargate Atlantis one. But because of the anger by certain factions, this is the main reason why Stargate Universe was not renewed. Ratings for any given show are what counts at the end of the day and this is also what happened to Atlantis.

SGU Cast Banner courtesy MGM Studios!
The only point they are showing is how their lack of support is NOT going to get them their “promised” movies. We were never promised these movies. We were told that it was a possibility. But, here’s a question, why should we be rewarded with a movie for such behavior? It’s no different if a child is misbehaving. Do you reward that behavior with what they want? Or do you say, “until you can learn to behave yourself, you’re not getting it.”

And I know that I will probably loose a nice few followers on twitter for some reason or another. And I wouldn’t be surprised if i did. Especially from certain factions in the Stargate Atlantis fan groups. Yes, they are passionate, and I love Stargate Atlantis just as much as the next person. However, being a STARGATE FAN first and foremost, I will show my support for anything that has the name Stargate in it.

David Hewlett as Dr. Rodney McKay

And another subject about this whole thing that has my goat is the fact that the convention organizers go out of their way to give the fans awesome conventions year after year. Yet you have some (and I repeat SOME) who will buy the gold tickets to see every guest there, and then boycott the SGU stars because they figure they will “prove a point” that way too to the creators. How sad.

Click to learn more about wonderful Creation Entertainment! But what it does is piss me off even more. I would love nothing more then to be able to afford to buy a gold ticket for a Stargate convention that Creation Entertainment presents wonderfully and see ALL the Stargate stars they have confirmed to attend. But you have these “people” that would buy a ticket, only to go and see who they want and ignore the others. That to me is a waste of money. They would take away from someone who would have loved to have seen EVERY Stargate guest going to these things.

And acting like spoiled little brats too. This is my opinion mind you. If I sound like a b***h, then so be it. I am a Stargate fan through and through and I for one enjoyed the many years and countless adventures our heroes have brought to my life these past 14 years, 17 if you count the original movie that started it all.

Like I said, these are my personal thoughts. If you don’t like it, oh well. But just to let some of you that love to cause debates and arguments in open tweets, I will NOT be apart of that. If you feel the need to send me messages to try and provoke me, just so you know, I will NOT answer to it. Not that I am a coward. It is just a fact that I will not be drawn into a pointless debate.

I think that is all I have to say. In fact, I feel I have said what I needed to say. So end of story.

  • Stargate Universe Hope; Season Two Episode 14 Critique

Click to visit Stargate Universe on Syfy!

    Hello again Stargate Fans,

Syfy Logo Chain Mail - Click to visit Stargate Universe on SyfyEpisode 14 of season 2 of Stargate Universe, entitled Hope, aired this Monday evening March 28, 2011 on SyFy, and Tuesday night March 29, 2011 for those of us in Canada who are cursed with having to wait an extra day until we get to see it on the Space Channel. Thanks for the spoilers, Twitter. Always appreciated.

Click to visit the fabled MGM Studios at their official web site!Even with the spoilers the episode remained enjoyable for me  I did see from the few people who post them (that I still follow who post spoilers), when Canadians have to wait an extra day, spoiler posts are a reason that may cause me to un-follow on Twitter.

Hope was another episode which took place entirely on the Destiny. An outside connection had still not been made – at least not with Earth. With everyone taking rounds manning the stones, hoping for some sort of news to do with the impending explosion of the last episode, no one expected the consciousnesses of two prior shipmates to jump into an unsuspecting Chloe, whom had fallen asleep during her shift.

SGU S2x14 - Chloe with stones before being a host

I want to start off by saying Chloe Armstrong (Elyse Levesque) must be really getting used to her body being stolen or taken over by some foreign substance. Unlike the others, who switch bodies through the stones alone, Chloe always seems to be the one who gets taken by aliens and experimented on – or whatever exactly they did to her – and now by the free-floating consciousnesses of Amanda Perry (Kathleen Munroe) and Ginn (Julie McNiven) interacting with Eli Wallace (David Blue) and Dr. Nicholas Rush (Robert Carlyle). I bet if she ever gets a month of just being herself in her own body, she is going to have some sort of withdrawal symptoms or something.

SGU S2x14 Ginn returns in Chloe

At the same time, I admit, it was nice to see Ginn return. Eli is always so alone. Well, maybe not physically, but I always sense a bit of loneliness from him, even when he’s cracking jokes. Maybe I’m imagining it, though. He finally found love and she was taken from him, only to return now in Chloe’s body. I felt so bad for him that it was like he finally had her back, but with the constant fear of losing her again – especially with the episodes she was having as she flashed back to being strangled.

SGU S2x14 Eli is concerned about Chloe Ginn
As mentioned Amanda Perry came back too, like I said. I guess I am not a huge Rush/Perry fan or anything so I was not really excited to see her. Also, I was not really surprised when suddenly she showed up halfway through in the body of Chloe while Lt. Vanessa James (Julia Benson) looked on. It is not that I was expecting her, really, I just was not shocked either. It was more like I nodded and said, “Oh, huh. Yeah, I guess that makes sense.” All I can really say about her and Rush, I guess, is that it is nice to finally see him be happy.

SGU S2x14 - Lt James looks on as Chloe becomes Amanda perry

Click to learn more about The Host!I think my problem with these two is, I really have a problem with bodynapping, or whatever you would call it. It is different from body-switching, where at least both parties are allowed to live, albeit in a strange and, I imagine, awkward existence. Bodynapping always bothers me – where more than one consciousness are fighting over the body. It reminds me too much of Stephenie Meyer’s book The Host (yes, she did write something besides the Twilight series) where alien parasites come in and take over the bodies of humans.

It is not so much a struggle as a domination. Of course, yes, the Goa’uld did this too, but I was making the comparison more that in The Host the aliens were not trying to start a war or rule the galaxy, they just wanted to live on Earth and went about it in an ethically questionable way, much as I saw with this.

I do concede (and was relieved to see) that the circumstances were different in that Amanda and Ginn neither tried nor wanted to take over Chloe’s body. Thank goodness. I spent half of Hope crossing my fingers that one was not going to get comfortable and take over. I might have lost some of my faith in the series had that happened. It’s too overdone, in my opinion, so I personally thank the Stargate Universe writers for thinking better of that!

I liked how that story concluded, temporary though the resolution may be. Again, I feared that Chloe’s consciousness would be one of the two downloaded into the ship and that Amanda or Ginn (though I was leaning toward Amanda) would end up inadvertently taking over her body. So thank you again, writers, for proving me wrong.

It was interesting how they tried to explain how this may have happened – that Amanda and Ginn came to be inside of Chloe. I find it hard to believe that she was the only one to fall asleep, but I guess they must have had relatively short shifts. Either way, Rush’s explanation that her consciousness must have relaxed just enough to let another in was cool. I like that he just knows things. Everyone else is puzzling and he jumps in going, “This is probably exactly what happened,” and everyone else goes, “Oh. Okay, then.” Well, I’m paraphrasing. I just wish I had that kind of magical power where explanations I make up actually make sense and are not just random like the kiss with Eli.

SGU S2x14 - Ginn and Eli kiss
I do have to wonder, though, as they did, where exactly were Amanda and Ginn for all of this time? Obviously their souls neither died nor moved on, so they must have been somewhere. But were they in limbo somewhere – just in a vast dark space between universes or realms? Or were their souls being held somewhere within the stones themselves, almost like a container? I know they were radio signals, but that really does not explain to me where exactly they were or how they got transferred from the stones. I know they were trying to figure that out too and I’m curious to find out. I hope they do not just let that one waver and die, and that they actually pursue an answer.

I have one more question. They kept saying that they wanted to find bodies to put Amanda and Ginn into, but where exactly do they plan on coming up with these bodies? Unless they have magical special powers – or the Ancients have some powerful technology that the crew learns to use – they cannot bring a dead body back to life. The consciousness is one thing, but if the body dies, it generally cannot be brought back to life. A heart does not start beating again because a consciousness has been installed. Well, unless it is a vampire or a zombie. I know this is science fiction, but I somehow do not see Stargate going that route.

SGU S2x14 - Lt Scott is concerned
The other option, I suppose, would be for them to share a body, but haven’t we learned from this episode how badly that would turn out? Yes, the Goa’uld and the Tok’ra shared bodies – moreso in the case of the Tok’ra – but they were snakes which took over the body, not just a free-floating consciousness. Even then, good luck finding a willing host.

SGU S2x14 - Chloe returns to the surface

Plus, now Eli can be with Ginn – at least in some small way. I may have audibly squee’d with the line, “Just being here, seeing you, hearing your voice. It’s enough.” Haven’t we all felt that way about someone? Loved them so much that just knowing they’re around brings us comfort. As much as a physical presence would obviously be better in many ways, who can deny that being able to talk to and see someone who was once thought to be dead – someone who meant so much – is incomparably better? I think that simple quote brought out that emotion so well, even if it is so simple. Sometimes, something simple like that is better than a big speech, and I think that was the case in this instance. I really felt it when Eli and Ginn were together and now maybe he won’t be so alone.

Now, if only they could bring Sharon onto the ship for Camile, I’d be a very, very happy girl. (Yeah, they’re my favorite couple to ship on Universe.)

SGU S2x14 - Lt Johason tells Col Young about medical options
The other major story which took place in this episode was Dale Volker’s (Patrick Gilmore) need for a kidney transplant. I guess this story dealt mostly with TJ’s (Alaina Huffman) growth as a doctor and her ability to use the Ancient technology.

SGU S2x14 - TJ and Volker before the operation
The episode also focused on some of the characters we don’t get to see as much, mainly Volker and Adam Brody (Peter Kelamis). Those two have a great bromance, if you ask me. I think we should definitely see more of them. I know there are a lot of friendships which have formed on Destiny, but theirs is one of the least explored and I feel it could be really interesting.

SGU S2x14 - Brody with TJ and Volker lighter moment

SGU S2x14 - Brody TJ and Volker lighter moment

At first, I was skeptical how this would work out. So many complications with the storyline. First, there’s the part that TJ is only a medic, not a surgeon. Obviously, being the only one with real medical training, she had to get over that at some point. I am actually surprised it wasn’t sooner. But there is also the problem with the fact that they seem to not have near enough medication. Two planets they need to find: the medicine planet and the clothing planet. Seriously. They need to change. I don’t want to know how much their clothes must stink by now.

I got over that quickly, though. Mostly what bothered me is that immediately everyone on the ship was tested. Okay, that makes sense, but shouldn’t they have asked for volunteers? The surgery is shaky, at best, and for real, it’s a dangerous procedure even done in a hospital. Instead they just drafted everyone and decided one of them would give up their kidney? I mean, I felt a bit better when Greer volunteered and they were asking him if he was sure and all. At least there was that, but it really bothered me before that.

Well, Greer offered, and it’s not that I’m upset he did or that I think it was the wrong decision, but I just want to point out that considering repercussions of functioning on only one kidney, it might also not be the best decision. People who donate kidneys are not supposed to undergo any overly strenuous activities – barely exerting effort on much during the recovery, but even after, there’s a lot they are not allowed to do. Greer is one of the main offensive, one of the military guys that is constantly involved in fighting the enemy.

SGU S2x14 - Greer - is cheer leading allowed?

If cheer leading is not allowed, then how exactly is he supposed to brave strange terrains of future planets, run around and fire guns? That’s dangerous all on its own, but with one kidney?! You’re practically asking for him to die!

I know, I know, it’s a television show and they can suspend reality, so perhaps that might not be a problem. It’s just that as someone who has had family members both donate and receive kidneys, I think about these things.

Now, that said, I thought it was really sweet of him to offer and to go through with it. I think it shows a lot of Greer’s character that he would be willing to do that for someone he barely seems to know, despite their close quarters on the ship. I always thought deep down he must be a softy, even if he doesn’t show it very often. Maybe he is just trying to be noble or did it because of a sense of duty, but I think it was much more than that. He genuinely wanted to help.

SGU S2x14 - Greer shows some tail before the operation

While I am on that topic, how sweet was the scene in the greenhouse (or arboretum or whatever it is called)? Totally sweet, right? I’m a sucker for friendship and bonding. I loved the look on Greer’s face as he looked up at the stars. He was so content. It made me think of a child looking at him. It was nice for him to bond with Volker a bit – especially since now they’ll be bonded forever like Amanda and Rush.

SGU S2x14 - In the Destiny gardens

SGU S2x14 - Amanda and Rush say goodbye for now

Who else found it hilarious when Brody started playing music before the surgery? Not just that it was the most inappropriate song for the moment, even if it was with good intent, but also just that it was such a strange thing to do.

SGU S2x14 - Brody with the music player!

Like I said before, though, I love Brody and Volker’s friendship. I’m so glad he was there to support his friend through it. Those two are always together so it’s only right that he was there. In fact, I thought for a long time it would be Brody who was going to give up his kidney. I hope before the series ends, we get to see more of them.

SGU S2x14 - Volker Park and Brody after the operation

Of course, in the end, they finally made contact with Earth to find out the bomb had been diffused. I was mostly just hoping this meant that Camile would go visit Sharon soon… I actually really like these episodes which focus on just relationships on the ship. I thought overall it was really well done. I am excited to see where this addition of Amanda and Ginn into the ship’s systems will take the Destiny crew and how it affects Eli!

Fring S3x18 - BOlivia and Mom on the way to the clinic
We begin with Bolivia and Marilyn are receiving the distressing news that Bolivia might be positive for the disease VPE
Click to learn more about the Preclampsia Foundation(viral propagated preeclampsia)  Welcome to the Preeclampsia Foundation. This was the disease that was the demise of Bolivia’s sister, Alt-Rachel and her baby.  This is discouraging news with a whopping 80% chance that Bolivia might have it! That is not the best news that I would want to hear as an expectant Mom.

    Fringe S3x18 - The ultrasound
The butterfly in the soothing video mural with the water fall, gave me the impression of a metamorphosis is about to occur. We are in for a ride again. The science of Fringe is always at work making us look at all the props, the nuances and evoking our thoughts to guess at where will the larger pattern eventually take us.

Fringe S3x18 - The butterfly video mural
The scene with Marilyn and Bolivia in car makes me think Bolivia is vulnerable to having a child. She seems to have already resigned herself to not being a parent.  Honestly, no one knows those answers until they are at that pivotal moment. She doesn’t feel she could be a wonderful Mother?  I’m already beginning to feel more and more for Bolivia. As a mother myself, I went through all the worries, real or imagined that all mother’s go through. She also feels she is being judged by her actions because of her ‘one night stand’. Lincoln and her mother just care and it good she has such support. I wonder how Peter would feel if he knew he might be a father or referred to as a one night stand?

Fringe S3x18 - Daugther Anna Torv and Mother Amy Madigan

Bolivia leaves her Mom and as she walks away, she feels that spidey sense kicking in. ( Maybe she picked up a bug from Alt-Charlie, Lol) She feels that she is being followed and for good reason. Bolivia IS being ”observed” by The Observer (Michael Cerveris) is not far away and is watching intensely.

Fringe S3x18 The Observer is watching

Every time I see the well dressed bald dude I get that feeling something profound is about to happen. Just then the ever devoted Commanding Officer Lincoln Lee(Seth Gabel) calls her and  appoints her a security detail out of safety for Bolivia. Unfortunately this was a useless endeavor. There were some unsavory characters waiting for her and ZAP! Bolivia is tasered and kidnapped!

    What an opening sequence!

Fringe S3x18 - Fringe Division New York

Lincoln Lee (Seth Gabel) and Charlie Francis, (Kirk Acevedo) are at the Fringe Division discussing Mona (Julie McNiven) the’ bug girl’ from episode “Immortality” that Charlie went on a date with. This made me laugh. I was curious if he would encourage that relationship at all. She certainly had the hots for Charlie. With good reason because so do I.

Fringe S3x18 - Lincoln and Charlie Fringe Division New York

This conversation about dating brought up feelings Lincoln might have for Bolivia. Charlie teased Lincoln about the fact that Bolivia’s one night stand was driving him crazy! That elicited a chuckle from me. When Lincoln found out that Bolivia was kidnapped his expression on his face was quite telling about how concerned he was for her and her life that should be none of his business as he put it.

Fringe S3x18 - Walternate and Brandon at Dept of Defense

Lincoln calls Walternate (John Noble) to reveal the upsetting news that Bolivia was kidnapped. At the time the call was made. Walternate and Brandon Fayette, (Ryan McDonald) were discussing the possibility of experimentation on children to find a way to other Universe. Brandon is a cool geek in our Universe but he just seems unsavory in the alternate universe. Walternate is unwilling to go the route of experimenting on children, and is very adamant about that decision. Walternate seems very stressed about the abduction of his future grandson and wishes to know every detail that is revealed to Lincoln in the search. I always miss Walter and his Walter-isms in these Alter-Universe episodes. Walternate is not Mr. Chuckles, where Walter is chuckles incarnate! lol 😛

They are able to track Bolivia with her organic technology tracking device but are thwarted by the kidnappers knowing about the tracking device. Lincoln and Charlie are frustrated and angry that ‘they’ removed it, and Bolivia is still missing. The kidnappers have gotten clean away and have begun to implement their plans they have for Bolivia and the baby.

The discovery of the knowledge of the tracking device leads Lincoln and Charlie to believe this to be an inside job. They recruit Alt-Astrid Farnsworth (Jasika Nicole) to find the person or person’s who would have clearance to the classified information. Alt-Astrid (Alt-Astro) is able to supply them with information of her own about a suspicious vehicle that has been cruising past Bolivia’s house for the past week. Astrid in any Universe is a favourite of mine. I wonder what her character will be doing next?

    Fringe S3x18 - Alt-Atsrid joins the search
Bolivia is brought to a makeshift hospital. The Doctor says “Phase 1 has disrupted the regulatory process by now and all inhibitory proteins should be blocked” What does that mean for the baby? Bolivia is restrained and they put a huge terrifying needle into her abdomen. I don’t mind needles, but, c’mon, that was a needle I wouldn’t even use on my enemy. OUCH! I’m really starting to feel for this Olivia.  The Doctor that is injecting her could really use some bed side manners. He let’s it slip that ‘they’ said she was a fighter.

This leads credence to the thought that this is an inside job. So, who is the paycheck behind this evil plan? What is this agenda and what does it have to do with Peter’s baby? The nurse is Yolanda Ulmer (First Wave, Trooper) and she seems to show some compassion. However, when she puts that ‘target’ ultra sound machine pointed at the baby you just know that she is not all bed side manner either.  Who can do those things to a Mother and an unborn child?

Fringe S3x18 - BOlivia about to get needled

Fringe S3x18 - BOlivia tries to reason with the nurse

Henry Higgins (Andre Royo) is the cab driver that has been driving past Bolivia’s place. He made an appearance in the episode “Olivia” and helped Olivia escape in the episode “Abducted”. He is a cool character. I liked the fact he was reading Opus, The Peahen. I love penguins. The last picture in the comic strip shows a taser shot to the woman. How fitting since that’s what just happened to Bolivia. Ouch! I laughed when Charlie said put your hands on the steering wheel and Lincoln said to get out of the car! What the hex you want the dude to do guys? LOL He can’t do both!

Fringe S3x18 - The cab driver

Henry sure knows a lot of things that seem to surprise Lincoln and Charlie. Charlie realizes Henry is the cabbie from the gas station that was helping Olivia. Charlie and Lincoln realize that there might have indeed been a switch of Olivia’s and that things may be more complicated then they seem…. Someone has some explaining to do!

Marilyn gets the bad news  from Doctor Rosa that Bolivia is indeed the carrier of the dreaded PVE. This means the end of the pregnancy for this baby. But is it? Marilyn shows herself to be wanting this baby for her Olivia, but she knows the prognosis is not good. Meanwhile, Bolivia has awakened at this point and is plotting an escape but it foiled by a vicious pain ripping through her abdomen. The baby is growing! They have accelerated the growth of this unborn fetus! What does this mean in relation to the status PVE? In the episode S1-2 “The Same Old Story” there was an accelerated growth of a child. That did not end well for Mother or child. What is going to be the end result for this CHILD of Bolivia’s and Peter’s?

Lincoln proceeds to meet with Walternate where he reveals to him what Henry the cab driver had told him. Lincoln wants to know the truth. Lincoln is very concerned for Bolivia. He needs to know the truth in order to search for Bolivia. But also to satisfy his own curiosity on the events that has come to light with his conversation with Henry.  I think the desire to be fully informed so it might help to a lead is just him fishing for information to solidify his own suspicions.

Fringe S3x18 - Walternate reveals the truth about Olivia
Lincoln ‘s suspicions are confirmed by Walternate, that they two women were indeed switched. How does this really make Lincoln feel? Walternate is willing to tell Lincoln every thing and does. Lincoln finds out that Bolivia did not have a one night stand but is carrying a child, one of great importance to Walternate. Lincoln has a look on his face that he has just been sucker punched in the gut. That was pretty amazing acting on his part. Lincoln looked blown away and perhaps a little nauseous. Lincoln might have some competition for Bolivia’s heart?

Fringe S3x18 - Lincoln Lee is shocked by the truth
Lincoln is running out of time. Bolivia’s baby has grown exponentially with the mad scientist filling her with wacky drugs and by now she looks 9 months pregnant. That had to be some serious pain, no matter the pain killers and the milligram amount. I’m cringing at the thought of it.  They are conducting a procedure in a joint expander machine to make sure her body is okay for the advancement in her pregnancy. That has got to hurt! I’d clench my hands too! What is this about a time table? Is there a time limit? What is their agenda? Bolivia is going to have to do something herself to get out of this mess. She tries to appeal to the ob/gyn nurse compassionate side and gets a no help from that heartless woman.

Lincoln and Charlie are trying to find her with the help of Atl-Astrid. They are going to have to tell Marilyn that Bolivia has been kidnapped. Charlie volunteers to talk to Marilyn. Charlie says to Lincoln “You talking to me”? I love that line, any where in any universe! In the Alternate Universe Francis Ford Coppola directed Taxi Driver, That was very clever for Charlie to say that line.

Marilyn is telling Charlie that Bolivia can not have the baby and that means what ever these people are up to, could very well kill Bolivia.

The nurse is about to get a comeuppance’s as Bolivia goes Dunham on her. Gotta love that! Even as advanced  in pregnancy she is, she can still show her fighting skills. Yes! Deliver ultimatums and kick butt! Bolivia escapes only to find herself in a worse predicament. The baby is coming! Bolivia calls Lincoln but will he get there in time? He sure does, with the help of Henry Higgins. The  cabbie that knows all the back streets to China town where Bolivia was being held.

Fringe S3x18 - The bundle in Chinatown
Now this is where my sanity flies out the window, between the nail biting and the crying, I’m hoping up on the back of the couch to watch what is about to unfold. Henry is once again there to help out. He offers to help with the delivery of the baby. There is the heart wrenching scene between Bolivia and Lincoln. That is some incredibly stellar acting of Anna Torv and Seth Gable. A single tear rolls down Lincoln’s face as he promises Bolivia that he’ll make sure the baby will be okay. The pain on her face is making me cringe.  How could anyone not feel for Bolivia?

    Fringe S3x18 - A tear for BOlivia

Lincoln professing his love for her was a delight and a sorrowful moment  with the thought of her dying looming with every push she made. When the baby was born and Bolivia went so still, Lincoln’s expersion on his face had me just in tears. I cried more than the baby did! *phew* Bolivia and the baby are both fine and I can crawl down off my perch on the back or the couch. Henry has done a wonderful job of delivering Bolivia’s baby and hopefully we will see his character in future episodes.

Lincoln’s profession of love bodes well for our Olivia. With Lincoln’s love for Bolivia out in the open, I’m hoping this may lead to something for the pair. Perhaps sharing a traumatic event between them, opens a lot of possibilities for love to grow?

Lincoln and Charlie are at the hospital where they meet up with Walternate. Walternate seems to be so concerned for the safety of his grandchild and Bolivia. Walternate is one guy that I would not wish to cross. Good thing Lincoln seems to be on his good side.

    Fringe S3x18 - Lincoln Lee with Alt-Charlie

    Fringe S3x18 - Alt-Charlie with Lincoln Lee

Lincoln and Charlie are not pleased that Walternate has not been sharing his secrets with them. Which leads them to speculate as to what else they may not know. What may have happened to Broyles and if there is a correlation between the events of the switching of the 2 Olivia’s. I wonder what they intend to do about the lack of knowledge they have on these events?

Marilyn and Bolivia are marveling at the wonder of the little miracle cooing and stretching in her arms. The PVE did not have time to manifest and a miracle to love and hold is born. He is gorgeous, and so precious. Bolivia is showing us those beautiful Anna Torv smiles we all love. You can’t help but smile with her. But what are the insidious plans for this little miracle?

Fringe S3x18 - Mama BOlivia smiles

Fringe S3x18 - Mama BOlivia cuddles with the little bundle

We don’t have long to enjoy the Mother and son moment before we see the transfer of the baby’s blood sample to a minion. August, our Observer is there to witness the transaction as well.  What does the Observer mean”It is happening?” I’m speculating that this baby is more important than we first realized. Is Peter the only person that can operate the machine?  Is this child important to the Observer’s as well?

Fringe S3x18 - The Observer is seen again!

The minion is the sleazy Alt-Brandon and he delivers the blood sample to none other than Walternate! He executed this plan and put their lives in such great peril. I thought he had a moral stance on not experimenting on children?  Wouldn’t the rapid growth of a child be considered experimentation? What plans does Walternate have for his Grandson? Is this child ‘FATED’ to be an intricate part of the larger pattern of Fringe Science.

Fringe S3x18 - Waltrnate and Brandon view the child

  • Stargate Universe: Season 2 Episode 12 “Twin Destinies” Analysis with Full Episode Video

Click to visit Stargate Universe on Syfy!

    Welcome back Stargate Universe fans!!!

Syfy Logo Chain Mail - Click to visit Stargate Universe on SyfyWow, this has been a while since I have written a review for Stargate Universe. Did you miss me?

I know that last review I wrote was way back when with the season one tenth episode “Space”. That was a great experience for me as I have never ever accomplished something of sharing my perspectives like that before.

Although I wrote myClick to visit the fabled MGM Studios at their official web site! “Space” review as a play-by-play of what occurred, this one is more of my impressions of what I thought about and of “Twin Destinies”. Several sections of “Twin Destinies” (directed by Stargate legend Peter DeLuise) are pointed out either as to what caught my eye the most or what I found especially entertaining. So be prepared that I may jump all over the episode with this review. Let us get on with the reason why you are here, my analysis.

We start off with a meeting of all essential bodies discussing their options of fixing the Destiny. Unfortunately with no parts or any clue as to how to fix the ship, the only apparently viable option is what Eli Wallace (David Blue) suggests. That option is to dial the ninth chevron and go home to Earth while recharging Destiny in a sun!

    SGU S2x12 - Crew Meeting

    SGU S2x12 - Crew Meeting

    SGU S2x12 - Crew Meeting

SGU S2x12 - Eli suggests dialing the ninth chevron

Of course Dr Nicholas Rush (Robert Carlyle) rejects that reasoning. Even if they did manage to dial the gate and go home, it could very well blow up the ship according to Rush. With no one really caring *mainly cause they would be on their way home*, Rush speaks up and suggests that some people may  want to stay behind with him and continue on the mission and journey aboard Destiny.

SGU S2x12 - Destiny command staff

SGu S2x12 - Rush and Young

Rush is one of these people that is hard to figure out. He started off as a very conniving individual who is hell bend on doing what has to be done as long as “his” mission is completed. Then later on you see that he does genuinely care for people until something or someone threatens his plans. Then as we have observed he goes right back to his old ways.

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies Robert Carlyle as Dr. Rush

I had really thought that when he started “seeing” his wife Gloria Rush (Louise Lombard) and Dr. Jeremy Franklin (Mark Burgess) in the actual bridge, that he would lighten up a bit. And for a while he did. What was a surprise actually was Col. Everett Young (Louis Ferreira) siding with Rush in his decision to stay aboard Destiny. This actually shocked me more than surprized me. However that was a short lived change of heart in Rush as we soon discover. I wondered if we will see a real change of heart in “Twin Destinies”? Let’s find out!

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies Louis Ferreira as Col Young
Why on earth would anyone what to stay aboard the Destiny when you have a way home is beyond me. Maybe Rush has got something to prove to someone, or to himself. Which I think is most likely. It is like he can never ever be wrong. And when someone does point out something that he might have overlooked, he gets agitated and lashes out to whoever is in close proximity.

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies Lou Diamond Phillips as Col. Telford
Of course every chance Col. David Telford (Lou Diamond Phillips) could get to undermine Col Young  or especially Rush, he was going to do it. When they were all gathered in the gate room (the first time), Telford took the opportunity to have his say. Not sure if it would have worked or not, Young seems to have the backing of everyone on board. Well, almost everyone.

Eli I have found has grown a lot since the beginning, and especially since the death of Ginn (Julie McNiven). He’s gotten more outspoken, especially when up against Rush in certain matters. We seen that when he stood up to Young after Rush was left on the planet, “well you should have thought of that before you got rid of Rush!”.

Two of the best recent scenes occurred in “Twin Destinies” and both were hilarious. The first was the return of Dr. Bill Lee (Bill Dow) in an exchange of conscience mind with Eli via the Ancient Communications Stones when they talked about computer gaming. Leave it to the two great geeks of Stargate, Eli and Dr. Lee to discuss gaming during a crisis!

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies Bill Dow as Dr. Bill Lee

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies David Blue as Eli Wallace

The second was a chat between Lt. Tamara Johansen (Alaina Huffman) and Lt. Vanessa James (Julia Benson) about Dr. Rodney McKay (David Hewlett). The ladies including Chloe Armstrong (Elyse Levesque) were comparing Eli to the other genius’ of the Stargate program and were having a very hard time thinking past Dr. Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) and Dr. Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks). Then they suddenly and a bit reluctantly recalled that McKay had leered at each of them in the past before the mission. (David Hewlett returns to reprise his role in the Stargate Universe episode “Seizure” to be aired in April 2011)

SGU S2x12 - Chloe does not get the McKay joke

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies TJ and Lt. James talk about Dr McKay!

These next set of pictures are taken from various places in the episode. I think that the special effects are nothing but brilliant. For someone like me that does not have a clue how it is done, Mr. Mark Savela and his team really out-do themselves in every episode. I mean, I understand the concept of the green screen when the actors are in the gate room and such, but this with the computer generated special effects are beyond me. I will just sit back and enjoy. I am completely amazed with the brilliance of his teams VFX work.

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies - Destiny Eclipse

SGU S2x12 - Shuttle on spare parts mission

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies - Destiny VFX

OK, I do not know if you feel the same as I do or not, but does it creep you out that we have TWO Dr. Rush’s? When I watched “Twin Destinies” The geeky-ness factor (yes it is my new word for today) just went up a few levels! We have seen in the other two Stargate series (Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis) the usages of parallel universes and what happens when you have the same person in the one reality. Only goes to show how they make it different in each situation.

    SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies - Twin Rush's

After the failed attempt to get the crew safely home and with two Rush’s on-board after the discovery of the second alternate reality Destiny, the only course of action was a salvage mission to obtain the spare parts required.

With two Rush’s that means double the deception! Rush ‘A’ is bad enough, but having Rush ‘B’ as well, that is a recipe for disaster. Although with Telford being his usual charming self *snicker*, he and Rush ‘B’ got into a little dispute. I do not think that Telford had much respect for Rush anyway, though it makes one wonder if there were any differences at all from Rush ‘B’s reality compared to Rush ‘A’s. I used the concept of Rush ‘A’ and ‘B’ from Teddy and Ajay when they were discussing the episode on InnerSPACE on SPACE channel.

SGU S2x12 Twins on Alternate Destiny

Though we all know that you can’t push Rush too much, he will only push right back. And unfortunately for Telford, we see just that. But if you think about it, if we have two Rush’s, which Telford is this one? And for that matter, why didn’t Rush ‘B’ experience tropic cascade failure like Dr. Samantha Carter did in the episode “Point of View” from Stargate SG-1?

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies - Alternate Rush BBQ's Alternate Telford

She was in the same time dimension as Major Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) in no time when she started having problems. You can’t have two of the same person in the same universe. Or can you?? I guess we are left to ponder that one. Or maybe they can answer that at the next convention they attend. If someone could ask that, can you please let me know the answer? 😉

SGU S2x12 Twin Destinies - Rush is shocked by his own actions

After Rush ‘B’ shoved Telford, the mere look on Rush’s face made me think that maybe he felt guilty of killing Telford. At one point, it looked like Rush was going to grab for Telford and save him (if that was even possible) when he was reaching out for him. Then of course when Rush ‘B’ realizes he can not help Telford, he leaves and heads off.

Of course it does not help matters when Rush ‘A’ and Lt. Scott finds the dead Col Telford and hurries off leaving the young Lt behind. Again, same old Rush. It’s scary that even though they are from a different time, space and experience, they are still the same in all other aspects.

SGU S2x12 - Mike Dopud as Varro

Now I can never end off this analysis without adding my thoughts about Varro (Mike Dopud). Albeit he has a small appearance Mr. Dopud is still lovely to see as I am sure all the ladies agree!

SGU S2x12 - Varro portrayed by Mike Dopud

But no review of mine is not complete without having a nice butt shot of Varro from behind, LOL. I HAD to add in that picture for a certain someone who loves to look, LOL *wink*.

SGU S2x12 - Varro bun shot

Now as soon as I observed this, I couldn’t help myself but tweet something a little typical of me. I will tone it down here, because I never know who is actually reading this. But can you say “Varro a tad bit roasted.”? LOL

SGU S2x12 - Varro roasted nuts

At the end of the episode while the spare parts have been procured, the fate of the remainder of the crew is unknown. The twin Rush’s do the right thing with alternate Rush sacrificing his life to maintain control of alternate Destiny allowing Rush and Lt. Scott to barely escape.

SGU S2x12 - Alternate Rush sacrifices to save Scott Rush Destiny

As alternate reality Destiny is destroyed in the star and since only Telford actually made it to Earth, this leaves one to believe that the others were either killed or transported to another destination as a result of the unstable wormhole.

SGU S2x12 - Lt Scott holds open Alternate Destiny Stargate

SGU S2x12 - Rush runs for his life

SGU S2x12 - Diving thorugh the Stargate to Destiny

The crew compliment of Destiny is now at a bare bones level!

Stargate Universe: Reasons Why Stargate Fans Should Watch SGU Live from March 07 Onward with Full S2x10 Resurgence!

    2011 - SGU Returns-Rush-Mar0711

Hello once again Stargate fans,Click to visit the fabled MGM Studios on Twitter!

I say Stargate fans because there is something you the fans of all Stargates can do to perhaps help support and save the MGM Studios franchise from being put on the shelf for the foreseeable future.

Let’s set the record straight. WHR put out a tweets recently about the great Stargate Universe marathons on Syfy. We received mostly positive replies, however a few sent Twitter direct messages slamming Syfy being unwilling to open tweet their frustrations using foul language in the process.

We ask why be negative? The Stargate franchise needs the support of all fans. Please look at the tags and see all the wonderful people who made Stargate a reality for 15 years! Lets work as a team on March 07, 2011 shall we? Thank you. We include the full 10th episode Resurgence for your enjoyment!

Click to visit Stargate Universe on Syfy!Click to visit NBC Universal!

Syfy, an NBC Universal company, has been one of the greatest supporters of the MGM Studios Stargate franchise for a very long time. Syfy saved Stargate SG-1 from oblivion. Syfy brought us five wonderful years of Stargate Atlantis. In Syfy Logo Chain Mail - Click to visit Stargate Universe on Syfythe United States Syfy signed a two year contract to broadcast Stargate Universe on their channel.

A two year commitment is virtually unheard of in the fast moving television industry, not only now but since the inception of broadcast television programming many decades ago.

No matter what you think of Syfy, below are two very good reasons to watch Stargate Universe LIVE on Syfy beginning March 07, 2011 in the United States.

Reason Number One: If the ratings are high enough Syfy may (repeat may) consider a different fate for the Stargate franchise on their cable based channel. Mr. Engler of Syfy tweeted earlier this week (with a giant MAYBE) that if the ratings were high enough there may be a different outcome for Stargate. For a network affiliate to make such a statement is a hint to the fans of Stargate. Please do not let this “hint”, really an opportunity pass you by Stargate fans.

Reason Number Two: Our research confirms that some 500 individuals are employed directly or indirectly (contractors) whom help create Stargate. Should Stargate Universe be put on the shelf for a period of years, many if not all of these employees, all human beings like you and me stand to lose their jobs.

Stargate Universe was canceled not because Syfy has not supported Stargate. Quite the contrary. They have continued to broadcast all the Stargate programs and movies regularly. It was canceled because of low ratings SGU S1x01 USS-General George Hammond in Battle!AFTER a two year commitment by Syfy. Many fans chose to boycott the program for various and sadly, often selfish reasons.

Now you are free to think whatever you want, but if the people that make Stargate lose their jobs, a portion of the fault lies in the Stargate fandom fostered by groups that wrongly believed if they ‘killed’ SGU it would lead to Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis movies. Sorry people, if the individuals who make Stargate are no longer employed, there will likely not be any Stargate movies. In fact there may not be any Stargate at all.

Even if you do not like Stargate Universe for whatever reason, okay, we respect your right to your opinion. BUT this is not about your opinion. This is about demonstrating solidarity for and within the entire Stargate franchise fandom.

What’s up? People seem to enjoy expressing hatred of and to Syfy. Many have analyzed this type of behavior with the same conclusion as our team here at WHR, this is wrong headed thinking.

Please set aside your grudges and or frustrations to prove you are a Stargate fan by watching Stargate Universe LIVE for the next ten episodes on Syfy. Your reward for demonstrating your support? You may just find out that Stargate will continue and not be “placed on the shelf” like so many other series have been. The “feel good” you and many desire for investing your time by doing so?

Click to visit Bridge Studios Vancouver!

You may just help save the jobs of approximately 500 people including the Bridge Studios crews, the contractors, the creators, and the very talented actors and actresses of the Stargate franchise!

Fringe Review Immortality Detailed Analysis Review with “6B” Sneak Peek!

Greetings once again Fringe fans!Fringe Retro. Click to visit Fringe on FOX!

    Olivia (Anna Torv) with red hair, air transportation by dirigible and Alt Fringe Division Agent Lincoln Lee (Seth Gabel) is in charge;

Click to visit 20th Century Fox Television!it must be another alternate episode. And who is the hot guy Alternate Olivia is spending her time with? Click to visit Warner Brothers Entertainment!

None other than Bolivia’s boyfriend Frank Stanton (Phillip Winchester) who has been in Texas working for the CDC. This relationship is very important, so pay attention.

Fringe S3x13 Immortality - Bolivia with Frank

Just as we are about to get cozy with Fauxlivia (Anna Torv) and Frank, we are wrenched in another direction to discover that some poor guy, our episodic victim du jour, who seems to have some sort of cock roach like beetle insect inside him that squirms out through his mouth. If you don’t like getting down and dirty with bugs, this episode is not for you.

    Fringe-S3x13-The bug about to emerge

Next, should we feel sorry for poor Frank, who has decided to propose to Fauxlivia? He’s dumb enough to confide in Agent Lincoln Lee (Seth Gabel), who immediately spills the beans to Fauxlivia. Did Frank confide in this man because he knew that he’s a blabbermouth? Or does he choose his confidants poorly? Either way, Fauxlivia now knows and does not seem to be over the moon about it. Despite her love of Frank, will she be able to keep her secret?

    Fringe-S3x13-Bolivia and Frank

Flash to a public washroom where our evil scientist arrives and helps himself to at least one of the insects that are now crawling around on the floor after gorging their little selves on the insides of the poor victim. But these are no ordinary creepy crawlies. They are beetles that were thought to be extinct.

    Fringe-S3x13-The evil bug scientist

    Fringe-S3x13-Lots of bugs

Later, Fauxlivia discovers that the insects do not live outside the body for long. Turns out, after speaking to a bug expert, she learns that the beetles were exclusive to sheep. However in the alternate universe sheep had died out years ago.

Fringe-S3x13-The bug do not live long outside a body

We fade to Alt Walter Bishop (John Noble) also known as Walternate with the important title of Mr. Secretary. Seems he is responsible for some seriously twisted testing on human subjects. The subjects typically die within thirty minutes of administering of an injection of what is no doubt “alt cortexiphan”. Except one, the youngest subject does not die immediately. instead he has developed telekinetic abilities before succumbing.

Fringe-S3x13-Walternate see alt universe cortexiphan results

Alt Brandon (Ryan McDonald) recommends using children. Walternate refuses to use children in his experiments making him different than Walter in our universe who did use children in the Cortexiphan trials. This reveals that Walternate is not so bad after all.

Fringe-S3x13-Brandon tells Walternate about using children

Fringe-S3x13-Walternate say no to using children
We then meet a new character, a lab worker named Mona Foster (Julie McNiven, a wonderful actress recently seen in Stargate Universe as Ginn). Mona helps Bolivia and Alt Charlie learn more about the beetles that figure prominently in the story arc.

Back to Fauxlivia who runs across Frank, helping out for the CDC. A very competent military woman, Alt Astrid (Jasika Nicole), at the Empire air ship port where the victim was discovered, suggests putting out a Fringe Alert regarding the beetle. Frank seems very impressed with her. Could Frank’s reaction to Alt-Astrid go somewhere in the future? It looks very possible.

Fringe-S3x13-Alt Astrid tells them what to do

More investigations follow when they discover that a scientist who’s whole life was wrapped up in this particular beetle went to pieces when the sheep that hosted it disappeared. There had been a symbiotic relationship between the sheep and the bugs. The scene ends when the next victim du jour, a data systems employee is shown dead in a crashed car.

    Fringe-S3x13-Death in a car crash

Our evil scientist is named Dr. Armand Silva (Alon Aboutboul), who, had been speaking to the victim in a coffee shop, is catching the beetles in a plastic tub as they fall from the victim.

    Fringe-S3x13-Dr Silva goes to work

It seems that Dr. Silva has discovered a much more convenient way to harvest his specimens as Agent Alt Charlie Francis (Kirk Acevedo) and Bolivia discover.

Fringe-S3x13-Alt Charlie and Bolivia investigate bugs

At least he isn’t using children. And the bugs making their way out of the victims are getting bigger. Another growing clue.

    Fringe-S3x13-Alt The bugs get bigger
As Walternate struggles with feelings of doubt regarding past decisions with his mistress named Reiko (Joan Chen), he reaffirms that there are lines he won’t cross but others he will such as having a mistress.

We return to Fauxlivia and Frank who explains that Dr. Silva was working on a vaccine for the Avian flu. He was using the Skelter Beetles before the natural sheep hosts had all died out. So, now we have motive. Dr. Silva has altered the beetle’s host so he can complete his work.

But Frank has another surprise for Fauxlivia. He produces an engagement ring. His timing is, of course, terrible, but Olivia accepts anyway. Her reaction to Frank’s proposal suggests that she is not entirely sure about accepting. Frank seems to pick up on this and asks her, “seriously?” We know that she is not startled by the proposal, having been given advance notice by blabbermouth Agent Lee, so her reaction confirms that there is something else going on.

    Fringe S3x13 A happy moment
Fauxlivia heads to a warehouse in Brooklyn. She and Agent Lee investigate. Lee gets himself locked into a freezer. On her own, and unaware she has lost her backup, she hears a noise. It’s a monkey in a cage that startles her. She slips, falls backward and knocks herself out among broken glass containers…full of the beetles.

Fringe S3x13 The deadly beetles surround Bolivia
Has she become infected? Fauxlivia wakes up in a chair, handcuffed. We see Dr. Silva has given Fauxlivia something to drink. Since the drink appears to be the way the previous victims have become infected, it appears that Fauxlivia is next.

Fringe S3x13 The drink of death?

    Fringe S3x13 Is Bolivia nest

We learn from Dr. Silva that since the sheep have died out he has to sacrifice some humans for the greater good by using them as his subjects. Meanwhile, Fauxlivia’s partner escapes and calls the Fringe team in. Believing that Fauxlivia is infected, she is rushed to the hospital. Lee holds gun to Silva’s head. He’s ready to kill the scientist if he doesn’t save Fauxlivia.

Fringe S3x13 Agent Lee takes action to save Bolivia

In the ambulance, Frank is about to inject Olivia with an anti parasitic medication when they discover via ultrasound that she is not infected, she’s pregnant. It turns out that Dr. Silva is infected. He reacts badly as a beetle emerges from his neck. He manages to place the beetle, a queen, into a container before he dies.

Fringe S3x13 Dr Silva gives birth to the queen

Fringe S3x13 The queens new home
Once Fauxlivia is in hospital and we know she is safe and well, Frank comes by. Naturally, he is relieved that she and the baby are fine. However, we learn that Frank is not the father. He asks if Olivia loves the father. She doesn’t answer him. Poor Frank. His parting words, “You were going to marry me.” What is going on here?

Fringe S3x13 Bolivia tells Frank the father is Peter

Fringe S3x13 Frank is not happy with Bolivia

Why make the baby Peter’s? The answer is obvious. The writers needed a way to bring Peter back. We know he’s a good man. Once he knows he’s about to become a father, of course he will want to be involved. But will a baby be enough? Will Peter sacrifice his own world for a child?

Walter Bishop receives a phone call. There may be a way to bring Peter back from the other universe, giving us a clue to happenings in a future episode.

Fringe S3x13 Walternate gets a phone call

Walternate shows up at Olivia’s and tells her she is the mother of his future grandchild. Walternate has likely already figured out that Fauxlivia’s pregnancy could bring Peter back to this alternate universe. If it does happen, will grandfather Walternate be a great grandpa?

Fringe S3x13 Bolivia meets Grandpa Walternate

Fringe S3x13 Grandpa Walternate and Bolivia
Will we ever find out if Alternate Walter would make a good grandparent? After all, it’s possible that the baby won’t make it to term in the story line thanks to the lower numbers of Fringe watchers.

Of note is that the live viewing ratings have dropped a little this week to 1.4 (as noted by TV By The Numbers). However, the DVR numbers for the series account for an additional percentage of viewings each week raising the rating to a 2.2. The problem is that DVR viewings are weighted lower because people often skip through the commercials that adversely affects the advertisers who actually pay for series such as Fringe .

Alternate Reality Fringe haters may be congratulating each other over their boycott of Alternate Fringe episodes. That is a pity. They missed a good episode this week. Maybe they will choose to illegally download the episode so that they are technically boycotting the show, but getting to watch it anyway – Let’s call it the “Buy (steal) Your Cake and Eat It Too” concept.

But here is a thought, if you want to kill the show, support illegal downloading and insist that your friends do not watch the Alternate Universe episodes. Do exactly the same stupid things that the Stargate Universe haters did – do everything you can to not watch the show who became so passionate about that the network decided to cancel the series completely. That will show them, will it not? Yeah right! (not).

A suggestion; if you want episodes written the way you think would meet your specific goals or desires, why not write your own Fan Fiction? Then your characters will be exactly the way you want them to be. Or, better yet, learn from the mistakes of a certain minority of Stargate fans, and do not mess up a good thing. I suggest you support Fringe and watch live. Thank you.

Fringe returns this FringeFriday, February 18, 2011 at 9 PM EST/PST. Be sure to watch live for the awesome all hell breaks loose episode “6B” to support a program that certainly deserves a fourth season. Hello again Stargate fans!Click to visit the fabled MGM Studios on Twitter!

Well, it’s been one week since my first blog was posted regarding my idea for the “Spread the SGU Love” (or “Share the SGU Love”) fan campaign to help garner positive feedback regarding Stargate Universe to The Powers-That-Be (TPTB) at MGM Studios.

So far, what I’ve been hearing from fans is many went out and actually bought cards, while others made their own as I have been doing the last couple of nights as illustrated below! Others including educators and teaches have had their school classes make them to send off to MGM.

    Primeval Series 4 Team!

    Series 4 episode 1 and 2:

Series 4 opens with Sir James Lester providing a brief explanation of anomalies and how the A.R.C came into being through the works of Nick Cutter and his team mates. Sir Lester goes onto explain how Nick was killed and the culmination of events that led to Danny Quinn, Abby Maitland and Connor Temple being stranded in the past. He explains that in the year they have been missing, there have been many changes. There is a new

    Primeval S4x01 Matt Anderson!
    Matt Anderson

team in place of Danny’s, along with more sophisticated equipment at the disposal of the A.R.C. what else has changed in that year?

Matt Anderson, a zoologist with military experience sits in a lab in a state of contemplation; his thoughts are interrupted by a warning siren. A Dracorex has become free, and is giving the scientists the run around. Matt calls Jess (Parker); the new field coordinator. She admits releasing an air lock in the menagerie area, whilst repair work was being carried out. Matt soon encounters the dinosaur in a corridor, and despite a brief tussle with a metal tray, they both escape reasonably unscathed.

However, the Dracorex is now headed for the ops room, and Jess is warned to vacate the area. She refuses to leave until the system is backed up, and ends up running into the dinosaur’s path. Sir Lester emerges from a lift wanting to know what is so urgent, although no further explanations are necessary as he also walks into the path of the creature. Matt and the rest of the team including Captain Becker (looking as handsome as usual) emerge from the corridors to help.

Sir Lester is not happy when Matt intervenes and coaxes the Dracorex into his office. The emergency over, Matt takes the blame for the blunder much to Jess’s relief.

We now meet up with Abby in the cretaceous period, digging for bulbs and roots. A noise disturbs her, and she pauses from her dig to concentrate on her surroundings. She is attacked from above, and a short scuffle reveals the attacker to be Connor. A year in the cretaceous era seems to have done him some good, despite Connors typical geekiness, there is an air of strength about him borne from the need to survive. Mr Temple, it seems, Primeval S4x01 Abby Maitland!has grown up, but just a little.

In their makeshift den, Connor hears a noise. A tin can strung between branches is a crude device to alert them to an anomaly. Connor runs in hope to the device, but it’s another false alarm.

Connor still has not given up hoping the anomaly will return, Abby is much more philosophical, all she thinks about is staying alive. Poor Abby looks desolate, like she has given up, battle worn almost, not the normal spunky little fighter we have come to appreciate in the previous episodes.

At the A.R.C, Matt explains the reason for the events of the Dracorex,s escape. Sir Lester is still not happy about the destruction of his office. Becker enters and drugs the creature, then prepares to return it to the menagerie. Matt instructs Becker to pay a visit to the armory when he is finished. Becker’s inquiry as to why is answered by Jess. The E.M.D,s have arrived (electro muscular disruption weapons), Becker jovially quips, “argh yes, the toy guns”.

Back in the cretaceous era, Connor is doing a spot of fishing, when a Spinosaurus turns up for a drink. It chases him back to Abby and their den, where Abby has thrown Helen Cutters journal into the fire in a distraught fit of angst. The pair will now have to move, as the dinosaur will never leave them alone now it knows their location. Connor is unwilling to leave the site of the anomaly as they could miss it re opening.

Abby stands her ground, as far as she is concerned, they are stranded, and will never make it home. Connor begs her to not give up, he really believes one day they will make it back. Again we see how the pair have grown in the past year. Abby was always the practical reliable one, Connor the hapless dreamer. Abby’s vulnerable side now appears, as practically speaking, they could well be stuck here, but she appears to be resigned to her fate, an opposite to Connor, who always had a more idealistic approach to life. He will not give up, and is determined they will return.

Becker catches up with Matt and Jess in the armory. His sense of humour still as wry as when we left him, refers to the e.m.d,s as tasers. Matt is unimpressed with the comparison till Becker reminds him of the friends he has lost, and will not risk losing more because Matt wants hPrimeval S4x01 - They're back!is team to use pea shooters. A bravado argument between them both ends in Matt shooting Becker with the gun at its lowest setting to show its potential.

Becker is pole axed by the power of the machine, and reluctantly agrees to use it.

Abby and Connor on the move to find a new place to live hear a memorable sound; a raptor is on the prowl. Tripping as she runs, Abby loses her backpack, and the raptor, alerted by a new smell, rummages through her pack, stealing her blanket. Not best pleased by the raptors magpie like instinct, she runs off after the raptor and her belongings.

Becker still reeling from the effects of the e.m.d reveals to Matt that he almost quit after he lost Sarah (she was killed during an attempt to find the others), that he felt to blame for the loss of all of them, a loss he felt was almost too much to bear.

Another new face enters the array in the form of entrepreneur Philip Burton (actor Alexander Siddig, Dr Julian Bashir of Star Trek Deep Space Nine). Philip Burton, is a private business man, and a brilliant scientist, who,s donations to the A.R.C give him a say in the running of it. Seeing Sir Lesters trashed office, he quips that Sir Lester should keep his tantrums under control, but if he needs more help dealing with the animals, Sir Lester only has to ask.

Philip reveals he has just had dinner with the minister, who has asked for another half a billion pounds to be put into the A.R.C project. Uneasy about Philip Burtons motives, Sir Lester asks Jess to hack into Philips diary and warn him of any more interesting dinner dates that come up. Jess, smiling, reminds him its illegal, but you cant help thinking she will do just tPrimeval S4x01 - Watch out here comes trouble!hat anyway.

Abby and Connor follow the raptor back to its nest, its apparently raptor breeding time, and this female wants to make her nest as appealing as possible. Connor searches the nest to find Abbys blanket and makes a momentous discovery. The clever little beast has squirreled away Helen Cutters anomaly device. Its not working but in the hands of Connor Temple, any computerized device will succumb, and soon enough, the device comes to life. He presses some buttons, and suddenly the tin can warning device begins to rattle. Dashing to the original anomaly site, they behold a wondrous vision; an open anomaly.

Unfortunately, just to prove its stubbornness, the Spinosaurus blocks their way. Using the raptor as bait, the pair manages to circle the two fighting dinosaurs and enter the anomaly. Where will they end up?

Meanwhile, back at the A.R.C, an anomaly has been detected, and the team is sent off to investigate. Abby and Connor are unsure where they have landed, a squad of cars pull up, and they are forced onto the ground at gunpoint. Connor watches as the anomaly is closed by a similar device he built. Suddenly a familiar voice rings out, “ I hope you brought me back a souvenir”.

    Primeval S4x01 - Jess Parker
    Jess Parker

Becker reaches out his hand, and the three hug each other in relief.

Jess brings Sir Lester the good news that Abby and Connor have returned safely. Pleased with the news, he inquires as to Danny’s whereabouts, but Jess has run off before answering him.

Becker introduces Matt to Abby and Connor, who orders Becker to keep three men on the anomaly until it closes. Connor removes Helens anomaly device from his bag, and boasts that he can shut it down. Unfortunately, the device reopens the anomaly, and the Spinosaurus barges through escaping past the team.

Jess is called into action, and her skills become apparent as she sorts out a location for them to trap the Spinosaurus in, sends in the coordinates, and shuts down roads to keep the public out of the way. Sir Lester remarks that only Connor could bring back a pet with him. Abby and Connor steal a car and chase after the team. Between them all, the dinosaur is herded into an unoccupied arena.

As the team prepaPrimeval S4x01 - Back at A.R.C.re to take down the animal, Connor still believing he can open an anomaly and send it back, steps into the line of fire; the team have no choice but to retire. The device is taking its time to work, so to give Connor more time, Abby distracts the dinosaur with a light and sound display (ironically and funnily enough, with a song from the group S Club 7, which Hannah Spearritt used to sing in).

Temporarily preoccupied by the noise and flashing lights, Matt swings down on a rope and pulls Connor out of the way of the thrashing animal. The rope pulley freezes leaving the pair dangling perilously close to the proximity of the jaws of the dinosaur. Unwilling to vanquish the anomaly device for the safety of Matt’s arms, Connor again tries to open an anomaly. The device slips out of his hands and into the animals open jaws. An anomaly opens, and the creature implodes taking the device with it.

Safe and sound back at the A.R.C, Abby and Connor are greeted by a pleased Sir Lester. Jess introduces herself, and Connor is impressed by the new equipment in the ops room. Catching up, they hear of Sarah’s death, and Danny’s disappearance. Philip Burton makes an appearance, and although Abby is unaware of him, Connor is over the moon to meet the brilliant scientist/business man, calling him a living legend. Sir Lester fills them in on a few updates. After the catastrophe of their last mission, it was deemed the A.R.C needed new guidance under the pro

    tection of private sector management.

Philip and Sir Lester take Abby and Connor to one side and explain that there is no place for them in the new team, all members have to have military based training. Abby does not take kindly to being called amateur, and Connor cannot believe Sir Lester let this happen, until its pointed out that the idea came from Sir Lester himself. Connor is beside himself with anger, he will not forget the work of Nick Cutter, and all he and Abby have endured in the last year would have boiled down to nothing, they will not quit now.

In the gardens of some country house, Matt has a meeting with an unknown older man who seems to know a little about botany. Matt brings the man up to speed about Abby and Connor, he seems to know rather a lot aboutClick to learn more about Primeval at BBC America! the A.R.C, but who is this man, and how come he know so much?

Perhaps we will find out next episode.

Connor wakes up to find the other side of the bed empty, walking out onto the balcony he finds Abby, who could not sleep. Old habits die hard, and when one slept, the other would keep watch. Connor offers to keep watch while Abby sleeps, instead she says she would rather stay with him. Connor wraps his arms around her, and they gaze out onto the morning view of London town. The relationship between the two has obviously solidified in the last year.

Series 4, Episode 2 Promotional Eight Minute Trailer (courtesy BBC America)

A caption tells us, this scenario happened 5 years ago.

Primeval S4x02 - Five years ago

A couple are sleeping in their bed, when the woman is woken by a noise downstairs.

Primeval S4x02 - Asleep waiting for a visitor

Unable to waken her partner (this part must have been written by a woman), the woman steals downstairs with a golf club in her hand. Crouching to see under the table reveals a rather ugly looking creature. When approached, it takes a bite at the woman, in retaliation she hits it with the club, and flushes the animal down the toilet (so written by a woman…joke). The animal turns up in the sewers where it immediately attacks a rat.

Primeval S4x02 - The little devil arrives

Connor and Abby are separately interviewed by Matt. They both feel let down by the new regime. Connor desperately wants to carry on Cutters work, and Abby, still reeling from the past year, tells Matt not to wish he had seen and experienced what they had. Sir Lester would rather they return to the A.R.C, but Philip stands his ground; no non-military types in the field team. Sir Lester manages to wrangle a job for Abby in the menagerie, but Connor is left out of the loop. Sir Lester begs him to be patient and not get into any trouble, as he will still try his best to get Connor back in the team. A worker is ordered to get rid of a massive pile of junk, quite a job considering the amount of debris.

Primeval S4x02 - ARC Team comtemplates the situation

At the A.R.C, Connor prepares to make his exit. He and Becker give each other a knowing nod, then Jess gives him her address and keys so he has somewhere to go, stunned by her generosity, he reminds Jess that she does not know him. “I’ve read the files, I know you” she replies; gratefully Connor accepts.

Placing an identity bracelet on Abby’s wrist, Jess proceeds to show her the menagerie area. Abby then has a wander around preferring to be alone; she is reunited with her old friend Rex.

Primeval S4x02 - ARC Team what do we have here

Matt still makes his reports the strange old man; when will it be revealed who he is? The worker is startled by a strange noise, a closer inspection proves fatal for the poor man, and he is dragged into the pile of rubbish by a large animal.

Primeval S4x02 - In the lab at A.R.C.

Wow, Jess’s flat is amazing, and Connor soon makes himself at home at the computer. Meanwhile Abby has a chat with Matt, she has always gotten on with animals, in fact, it’s a shame people aren’t more like them in some ways. She wishes they could all be sent home, as they do not belong here, she is surprised when Matt agrees with her. Thinking he was military though and through, Abby is surprised to hear Matt only served a few years before leaving, “it didn’t make him trigger happy”.

Tired of flat hunting on the “net”, Connor turns his attention to dinosaur sightings. Imagine Connors surprise when Duncan (series ). Connor nearly got fired for revealing his involvement in the A.R.C to his college mates Tom and Duncan. Tom died after a dodo bit him), his old college mate turns up as a source for some interesting images. After contacting Duncan’s mother, Conner, armed with his address, pays Duncan a visit.

Primeval S4x02 - Alexander Siddig guest stars

Duncan is skittish and wary as he believes the conspiracy theory Connor spun Tom as he was dying is still true, but he does agree to show Connor where the photos were taken. Duncan hands Connor a walkie talkie, and they proceed to the very area where the worker was snatchedA.R.C-Logo - Click to Visit Primeval-on ITV!. Apparently, according to Duncan, there used to be a thriving homeless community till they started being killed off. “Nobody is interested in the homeless” is Duncan’s reason for the lack of interest in the deaths.

Connor spots something suspect on the floor; further investigation reveals the mangled body of the worker. Connor calls Abby for help in assessing the workers wounds to make sure it is the work of a dinosaur. Before leaving, Abby consults the “net” for directions unaware that she is being watched by Matt. Intrigued by her behaviour, Matt scans her last entry, and decides to follow her to see what she is up to. Unknown to him, Jess has her eye on Matt, and as he leaves, she reminds him to keep his black box on incase she needs to get hold of him; also she asks him to bring back a bar of chocolate without orange in it. Jess confides her suspicions to Becker that Matt is acting out of character, but he waves away her thoughts, Matt knows what he is doing. Jess follows Matts transmitter to be on the safe side.

By the time Abby has arrived, the workers body has gone missing, but from Connors description of the wounds, it is clear this is no ordinary death. Time is not on their side as the rest of the workers return to work. Acting as health and safety workers, the pair try to convince the builders not to go back to work. Undaunted by their warnings, one lights a fire and the unhappy dinosaur makes its appearance. Everyone scatters, and Connor, Abby and Duncan flee to the safety of Matts vehicle (nice timing if I do say so myself).

    Primeval S4x02 - Disaster!

Jess finally manages to convince Becker that all is not right with Matts behaviour, his movements seem erratic, either he is being chased, or chasing something. Becker calls up the team ready for action just as Matt finally calls in for backup. Becker concedes to Jess and whispers to her “yes ok, you’re brilliant”.

Matt and Connor have no visual, but Abby hears a splash, the creature has entered the water. Commandeering a boat, she chases the dinosaur across the water to the docks. Connor and Matt head on over by car. The creature boards a ship, and gets lost in the cargo area. Chasing after it, Matt manages to get trapped by the animal. Just as it is about to pounce (more brilliant timing) Becker rallies off a shot with the new e.m.d gun, and the creature falls to the ground stunned.

Caged in a cargo container and ready for transport back to the A.R.C, the dinosaur wakes up. The thrashing of the trapped animal works the holding straps free, and the container crashes to the floor narrowly missing Duncan.

An inspection of the crate reveals it to be empty. Duncan is missing, and so is the creature. The stacked crates provide a warren of alleyways. Each alleyway looks like the last, and its almost impossible to track the animals movements. Connor manages to track down Duncan just in time, and locks him in a crate for his own safety. Connor now finds himself on the receiving end of the dinosaur attention and ends up having to run for his life. Fortunately he runs into Abby, who manages to let off a flare disorientating the creature momentarily, before it runs off in another direction towards Becker. Unknown to Becker the dinosaur is stalking him from above, as it is about to pounce on him, Matt Abby and |Connor let off a volley of shots, and the creature is killed.

    Primeval S4x02 - Giant reptiles!

Connor now has to find Duncan whom he locked in a green crate, unfortunately for Duncan most of the crates are coloured green. On a personal note, I know it’s sometimes a bit cheesy, but I do love the odd quirk of humour that Connor brings to the show. I was worried that it may be written out, but bless him, Connor still has the ability to make me smile.

Duncan is driven home by Abby and Connor, and on a touching note, Connor tells Duncan that Tom would have been proud of him, and to keep in touch if he finds anymore interesting photos. Duncan thinks Connor has done well with the hot blonde, and they part company with a ritual handshake.

Back at the A.R.C, Jess asks Matt for her bar of chocolate, Matt has forgotten, but much to Jess,s delight, Becker supplies her with a bar, and she blushes as he also remembers no orange in it.

Sir Lester, shouts at Connor “I suppose you think this what you mean by not getting into any trouble”. Connor stands his ground. He can be sacked, but nothing will stop Connor doing this work, he can be pushed aside, but he will investigate if he thinks an animal or anomaly is out there. Smirking, Sir Lester replies that since he put it like that, Connor was back on the team. Connor walks past Becker and they high five each other.

    Primeval S4x02 - The New A.R.C. Team

The team is now complete. Matt, Becker, Connor, Abby and Jess become the new A.R.C team. Jess gives Connor and Abby a place to stay while they sort out a place to live, she wants the low down on what used to go on, and is especially interested with Becker, it seems she has a crush on him.

Stargate Universe: As The Wormhole Turns – Share and Spread The SGU Love!

    Hello Stargate fans!

Stargate Universe - SGU season two wide banner

Share the SGU Love. Image courtesy Stargate ZoneIt is an unfortunate fact some individuals out there have been cruel with their hate campaigns regarding Stargate Universe. However, we are putting that behind ourselves and only focusing on positive things.Click to visit Stargate at the Official MGM Website!

With the “Share the SGU Love” fan campaign, the purpose is to help the Metro-Goldwyn Mayer Studios, the production company MGM for short, see the viability of keeping Stargate Universe on the air, we’ll remain positive, conducting ourselves in a very positive and giving way. We shall use one of the most concrete methods of getting attention: the postal system, or as some people call it these days, “Snail Mail” and use Twitter and Facebook to spread the word. We also use the hash tags  “Spread the SGU Love” as well as “Share the SGU Love” on Twitter.

Click to visit and follow MGM HD on Twitter! On the business side of things, where can Stargate Universe be broadcast? MGM does have their own network, MGM-HD, which is available in the US. In Canada, the Space channel, which is owned by CTV, has been getting an average of 1.4 million viewers per night. Sky1 in the United Kingdom has also been airing Stargate Universe with 1.3 million viewers per night, and in Australia, the numbers have been very high for the viewership, coming in with 800,000 per night.

The idea behind this mail-in campaign is to provide positive feedback & bring attention to and also give the head decision-makers at MGM Studios an idea of the numbers of the fans – as well as their geographical locations, and any other pertinent demographics such as gender and age – who want to see Stargate Universe stay on the air.

You can write me by e-mail here Marjorie Roden

SGU Destiny Stargate and crew in action!

This might lead to a co-production with another network or broadcaster, or even inspire the decision-makers at MGM to go forth on their own accord to keep this 15+ year old franchise, which has been on the television since 1997, with the initial “Stargate” movie first coming out in theatres in 1994. The Stargate franchise has been earning MGM a great deal of money not only in the television rights, but also in sales of the DVD’s and most recently, the on-line iTunes sales.

    MGM Studios Stargate Universe 'Destiny'!
First and foremost, in keeping with the theme of “Share the SGU Love”, we’ll start by sending Valentines’ Day cards to the m
Spead The SGU Love. Image courtesy StargateZoneain decision-makers at both the main MGM Studios in California, and also to the offices at The Bridge Studios in Burnaby, BC, Canada, where Stargate Universe is produced and all of the elaborate sets have been built.

In these cards, we will express how much we love this series and the stories told, and also make a point of stating where we are located, because a large part of what they, as studio executives need to know, is where the audience is located.

As the mShare the SGU Love. Iamges courtesy StargateZoneajority of the fan base where the show has been getting higher ratings is in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia, letting the decision-makers know this information, and to see who’s taken the time to do this, will make the people in these decision-making roles take notice.

Secondary to this, which I hope many of the fans take part in, is to send Valentines’ Day cards to the producers, creative department heads of the series (in care of The Bridge Studios), as well as any writers, actors, etc, just to drive the point home to the decision makers how much we as fans appreciate the series, as well as the people who work day to day on the series, and how much we hope to see the series continue on in the future.

2010 - Click to visit Bridge Studios Vancouver!
I was asked why I felt including The Bridge Studios in this campaign was important. My method to this madness is quite simple: the series is shot in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, for the most part, at these studios. The people who work day to day on the episodes live in this area, and the non-renewal of Stargate Universe has most adversely affected the crew members, as well as their families. The team built at the Bridge Studios in Burnaby, starting with the original “Stargate SG-1” series created in the 1990’s, has been huge in creating the magic of the franchise. The idea of people making sure the love is “shared” is paramount, because there have been too many knocks the other way, and NOW would be the time to give everyone who has a creative investment in the series a much-needed lift.

2010 SGU MGM The Stargate at Bridge Studios!Getting the attention of people in the decision-making roles is paramount, so sending the cards and/or letters to them in personally marked envelopes, with the individual’s name on then, would be a good plan. Subsequently, if people decide to send cards to multiple cast & crew members, mailing them in one large envelope – with each card in individual envelopes with the people’s names on them – to save on postage would be understandable. Bottom line, if you can afford to mail cards individually, to really make the mailboxes at MGM Studios and The Bridge Studios in Burnaby stuffed full of Valentines’ Cards, go wild!

Be as creative as you like with the cards. Some have suggested sending “We love Stargate Universe” cards for the campaign, others have considered sending regular Valentines. The idea is to do this en masse, and to drive home the point that the number of fans out there who love this series is a big enough fan base to warrant giving Stargate Universe a third season (and possibly beyond). Be positive with your cards, and if you do have an individual story to tell (ie: if a certain episode really spoke to you in a trying time), include that in your card. These are the kinds of things the shows producers and creators love to hear. Also, I know of some fans who have offered to design a pre-made postcard, available on-line for printing. Links for this shall be provided once the card is designed.

It is my hope that this campaign will get the attention of mainstream media outlets as well, because one of our other goals is to help MGM find some other networks to work with in the future. By bringing attention to both Stargate Universe and MGM Studios via the mainstream media would work for all parties involved.

Stargate Universe Ice Planet episode "Water"

If sending Valentines Day cards to the folks at MGM Studios and Bridge Studios is not your cup of tea, sending in positive letters to the bigwigs would be great, too. The main point is to get the attention of the MGM Executives, and let them see how large the fan base for Stargate Universe really is, so that the series is not outright canceled. We all love the storyline that has been so beautifully created by this creative team, and if any of the tweets from some of the actors are any indication, we are in store for a cliffhanger that will leave all of us howling and screaming for more.

  • Stargate Universe Canceled: A Sad Development As The Wormhole Turns – Is An Era Ending?

Stargate Universe Canceled: A Sad Development As The Wormhole Turns – Is An Era Ending?

Hello Stargate Community and Stargate Universe fans,

Stargate Universe - SGU season two wide banner

I would say good morning, but it really is not a good morning is it? We did have other news to post yesterday at 12 PM Pacific time, but frankly I did not have the heart to complete a story that was ready for publication. I realized that the news I had heard at the end of the day Wednesday December 15, 2010, likely to become reality, had in fact occurred. Click to visit the fabled MGM Studios!

For the first time in 17 years the MGM StudiosStargate” franchise that has been spinning and taking us all on adventures to far away lands, planets, galaxies across the universe, the series franchise filled with action, romance, mystery and mythology may sadly be coming to an end.

I can still remember my excitement in 1993 when MGM Studios announced production of Stargate (the movie). I was living in Austin Texas and could not wait to see the film. I and all my friends were even more excited when the movie became the Stargate franchise. Now after 17 episodic seasons it seems to be coming to an end, a potential end of an era of epic movies and series. I only hope that is not the case, but we are sad here today.

We here at WHR are saddened that the announcement was made one year almost to the day that Stargate Universe was renewed for a second season. I believe I can say with 100% certainty everyone here at WHR are saddened. We have had nine reporters over the past two years write reviews about Stargate Universe and visit the celebrities and creators at Stargate Conventions. We are quite sad for the loss of employment for the most talented actors and actresses. In the world of entertainment these are some of the finest human beings you will ever know.

Cast Banner - Click to visit SGU on MGM Dot Com

We are sad that wonderful people we have had the privilege to meet and work with at MGM Studios and The Bridge are liable to lose their jobs.

2010 - Click to visit Bridge Studios Vancouver!

We are sad that the crews, publicists, agents, and perhaps the entire Stargate family of creators who may also lose their jobs, face unemployment. We are sad for fans who have supported the Stargate franchise for 17 episodic years and three Stargate movies. We are sad because there may be only 10 episodes left in what was planned to be a 5 year 100 episode series 2010 SGU MGM The Stargate at Bridge Studios!run. We are sad because the Stargate may stop spinning in 2012 after the last 10 episodes of Stargate Universe in 2011.

Preparing for a long trip driving to Southern California to work, I did not have time to tweet very much. Texting and driving is not something any of us should be doing. I did however have wireless Internet access on my netbook and and looked at the tweet stream as much as possible via Tweet Deck. I also read a couple of articles when stopping for gasoline and food on the road.

I also became very sad for another reason; a group of people running a web site called “SGU Sucks Dot Com” threw a virtual party proclaiming that their 15 month campaign had “paid off”. And no I am NOT going to hyper link that foul place!

Many of these malcontents also tweeted about it and posted on several web sites. Over recent history, this despicable group of people has attacked the actors, the creators, the families and even the news sites which supported and reported on Stargate Universe (including WHR). Each time with foul mouthed glee since their misbegotten effort began in 2009. They also attacked the Stargate fans grabbing tweets and posting them for their hate filled campaign not realizing that they could be part of the end of the franchise for the foreseeable future as we have reported previously. I was sickened by what I read yesterday from these misguided and often hate filled individuals.

I was however on the phone while driving. I was talking with members of the team (both ours and Stargate’s) about the greatest fear of virtually everyone on our team, including mine. Then it was confirmed by a second source: SyFyNew SyFy Logo - Chain Mail elected to not renew Stargate Universe for a third season in 2011-2012. I knew I had to drive to Los Angeles and put out a few tweets, one of which in specific seems to have angered some. That tweet was that I knew that Stargate Universe would be canceled. In fact I was not told directly. While I had made calls to certain sources at MGM and SyFy, I was only told “news would be coming soon”. It was the tone of the e-mails and phone calls that lead me to believe 36 hours ago that Stargate Universe was not going to be renewed.

So when I said “I knew”, I erred and I apologize for that tweet. I did not mean to offend anyone. Nor will I  delete it, but leave it there as an indication that I chose the wrong words while on the road to Los Angeles for a reporting assignment.

SGU S2x07 The Greater Good - Entrance to Destiny bridgeWHR was not told directly “Stargate Universe” is canceled until the SyFy public statement was released. What I “knew” was that the news of a business decision was “coming soon”. I shared my thoughts privately with few people. Sadly, the cancellation of Stargate Universe indeed seemed to be coming. This was at the end of the day Wednesday December 15, 2010.

Despite the information which seemed to confirm the pending news, it is not the policy nor the job of WormholeRiders News Agency to post rumors. Nor is it our job to initially announce whether a series is renewed or not. We post facts subsequent to reading official press releases and then confirming same from at least two sources. This confirmation came at approximately 11:45 AM Pacific time, some 45 minutes after SyFy made a public statement which they later tweeted as well:

“Syfy will end its original action-adventure series Stargate Universe when the show returns with the final 10 episodes of its second season in the Spring of 2011. The Stargate franchise — consisting of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe — has aired on Syfy since 2002.

Syfy has a slate of new sci-fi/fantasy scripted projects lined up for 2011 including the series premiere of Being Human on January 17, the recently green lit one-hour drama series Alphas and the much anticipated Battlestar Galactica prequel pilot movie, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome. Warehouse 13, Eureka and Haven will also return with new seasons next year.”

I was reading the public statement (which was sent to everyone at the same time) when Michael Ausiello tweeted the news and then (literally) all hell broke loose. At first I thought that Michael had blind-side2010 SGU Sgt. Greer at the Gate Courtesy MGM Studiosd everyone including SyFy, then I checked the time of the announcement. In fact SyFy had informed the actors and crews in advance with their public statement.

The problem is that Twitter in specific exploded before people even had a chance to read the press release. In a way, it would have been nice for each actor and crew person to be told individually. However that is not possible. Why? While I do know that a few did find out officially, most saw it on Twitter first. But even if a round of calls or e-mails were made, the complaint would then become why did “they” inform “that” person or persons first?

Is Stargate Universe season three announced as a series canceled by SyFy? Yes. Does this mean that the Stargate franchise is finished for the foreseeable future? Maybe. A lot depends on you the fans of Stargate. What can you, the fans, possibly do in a positive way to perhaps save the show?

I would suggest that we all take a lesson from Chuck fans. Buy the Stargate Universe DVD’s and Blu-ray disks from MGM and give them as Christmas or other gifts. Download the episodes from legal sources such as iTunes.  Perhaps most critically, when Stargate Universe returns in April get everyone you know to watch the ten (10) un-aired episodes of the series LIVE (NOT DVR).

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, do not send threats or foul language tweets or e-mails to SyFy. That will do no good. Instead demonstrate that you support the Stargate franchise and maybe, just maybe, the series will be picked up. A bonus for all of the Stargate fans in being professional? You may just succeed and we could possibly get those two Stargate movies that all would like to see!

As previously tweeted, we will complete our reviews of every episode of Stargate Universe and finish adding all of them to the updated menu structure as soon as possible.
